Arguing about Barksdale (split)

scarletngrey11

All right, all right, all right.
Well i think you got your point across. Yeah, im sure you got your point across. The bottom line is Barksdale is a blue-chip player and he can go to play FOOTBALL where he wants. It really doesnt matter what position he plays. I dont think he's the type of kid to get infatuated with the rankings. People need to stop caring so much.

I wouldnt be so sure of that.

What is it that you base that off of? The only thing that i have been able to think of is the fact that he seemed so into the Ohio State concept at the beginning of the process and now is more open because of the love he's getting from other schools. To be honest, i dont think its wrong for a kid to make sure one place is right for him. But then again i guess you could interpret it into other ways.
- But back to my question, other than that, what other things would point you in the direction to think he would be "infatuated" with the rankings? (an honest question, and in no way directed to contradict anything, just looking for insight)

I just find it odd that a day after the Scout.com Top 100 comes out, he has an article exclaiming that he is not an offensive lineman, which was the reason why he was ranked so low. He also sounded a little upset at Scout.com and their "expertise" in the article.

So it's okay when fans argue on the message boards about rankings, but when a kid calls his own ranking into question, it's "odd"? Leave it out...

First of all, how many conversations have you had with Joseph to know what he is like? Second, I GUARANTEE you Allen Wallce got that interview knowing full well that people were clamoring over Joseph's ranking more than any other recruit on Scout's Top 100 list. That article is meant to stir things up and generate more subscriptions, which is the #1 motivating factor behind 99% of what goes on over there. And if you think a kid with offers from Ohio State, Michigan, Texas and USC is laying awake at night thinking about his Scout rankings, you are sorely mistaken...

Let's leave the comments like that off of the recruiting boards...especially knowing full well how many recruits have spent time on BP in the past.

He asked me a question, and I answered it.

Nothing to freak out about.

I was referring to the post you made that caused BuckeyeFromHeck to ask you to elaborate...those are the kinds of posts that are not necessary, especially when you really have no basis for your comments. Now let's move on...

i think barksdale cares about rankings more than a lot of recruits, i think it is just because he is having a lot of fun with this recruiting game, i don't think there is anything wrong with that, plus not many recruits have his offer list, he is in an elite class with his offer list and he deserves to be rated MUCH higher
