AT&T Wireless news & discussion

Can we change this to just a AT&T news thread?

There's a separate Apple News/Software thread. That way all iPhone news and stuff will be there and it's not confusing of which thread to post in. Change the Apple thread to "Apple Hardware & Software News". That way all apple news is centrally located and not in separate carrier threads.

I get confused which thread to post in everytime there's iPhone news

Request granted... sort of.

I didn't want to make the old thread a strictly AT&T thread since it was more about the iPhone, going all the way back to the original unveiling. There's undoubtedly some AT&T stuff still in that thread, but it would be too much work to go back and sift thru it to sort it all out. I figured your post was a good point to just start a new thread.

Now we have the following threads:

AT&T Wireless news & discussion (this one)
iPhone/iPad App Recommendations & Reviews
Apple Software & Mac Hardware news
Apple iPhone news

I'm sure it won't completely cut out the overlap, but hopefully it helps.

From what I read from the AT&T press release, you should not have to lose your unlimited data plan even if you upgrade:

"Current customers are not required to switch to the new plans, but can choose to do so without a contract extension. There are no changes to AT&T’s device upgrade policy, which means customers eligible to upgrade to AT&T’s best device price are not required to switch plans. The new plans will also be available for business customers."

Don't take my word for it though. I'm sure there's some type of fine print. I don't want to lose my unlimited, even if it is limited.

AT&T announces FaceTime over cellular available to tiered data plans (non shared data plans). However, this excludes unlimited (but limited & throttled) data plans. Ticked.
