Atlanta-Milwaukee series

This is one of those situations in which I think Atlanta is worse off by winning the series against the Bucks. They're not going to beat the Magic, and the win might keep Woodson (who's a terrible coach) around longer.

That's my nightmare scenario Bin07! The one where Atlanta steals 2-3 games against Orlando and Woodson is lauded and rewarded.

I would love to have Avery Johnson in Atlanta and had we lost to Milwaukee, I think he would have been the top candidate.

The 800lb Gorilla in the room is what to do w/ Joe Johnson. He wants a max contract but probably isn't worth it (despite being the teams top scorer).

I personally think they'll let him go and throw all that money at Chris Bosh, who played for GT and is familiar with Atlanta. However, outside of Dwayne Wade, he might be the top guy on ALOT of teams lists including NYK, and HOU. Bosh is from Texas, so it might be hard to beat out a Max-Contract deal from the Rockets.

hawg- I like your thinking, but at this point I don't see any way that Atlanta pushes Orlando to 7 games. I think a trademark of great playoff teams is pushing around teams that you should beat easily.

I'm happy the Hawks won, but they are still woefully undercoached and when playing a team with similar athleticism (Orlando), I really can't see us winning more than 2 games.

I know in the playoffs - all it takes is one good week to get hot and steal a game or two on the road, but we saw this crap last year from the Hawks when the Cavs had a week off and Atlanta won a seven game series over the undermanned Miami Heat. Atlanta got its ass kicked by the Cavs.

I see both series going 5 games, which would give the Cavs 1 extra day of rest over the Magic. It would hopefully also let Atlanta get rid of Woodson. I'd love for the Cavs to get Joe Johnson, but there is no chance of that happening. I think he would be the perfect 2 for Lebron.

Agree 100%. Joe is a perfect #2, As Pippen was to Jordan (although to a much lesser degree).
I feel bad for him too, he was traded to Atlanta during the first two 17 and 27 win seasons and he stuck through it and now wants his payday.

It's fine, I respect that. But he'll need to prove it in the playoffs. 3-4 30 point games against Orlando might do the trick. His play against Milwaukee was just "above average" imo.
