One of the nation’s highest rising prospects over the early portion of 2016, has now officially become a part of the class of 2016.

Four-star wide receiver Austin Mack, out of Bishop Luers High School in Fort Wayne Indiana, has been committed since July of 2015.

He entered a financial agreement with Ohio State in late August, but things became official today, since athletes have the right to opt out of agreements up to National Signing Day.

Mack has been the top receiving target for the Buckeyes for quite some time, despite not always being ranked as one of the top receivers in the class of 2016.

He climbed to 76th on the 24/7 composite rankings though after a great showing at the Army All-American Bowl.

At 6’2″, there is a possibility that Mack could have an impact on the field right away, but with so many young receivers on the field, it wouldn’t be surprising to see him redshirt by the end of the year.

Mack will compete though with Torrance Gibson, K.J. Hill, and fellow freshman Binjamin Victor for playing time in 2016.

Noah Brown will be Ohio State’s number one target next season, but Mack will without a doubt be in the mix as an early enrollee.

Here are some highlights of Mack for your enjoyment:

As the highlights show, Mack could have an impact right away as a special teams returner and will more than likely be in competition to return punts and kicks during the spring and fall.

Even though you’ve been in Columbus for a while already, welcome to Ohio State Austin Mack! Buckeye fans look forward to seeing what you can do, starting at this year’s spring game.
