B1G CCG: THE Ohio State University vs NW’ern: Sat, Dec. 19 in Indianapolis, Noon on Fox

Pretty obvious NW game plan is to force OSU to take long drives to score. They aren’t giving up the big pass play today. Day either hasn’t recognized it or thinks he can beat them that way anyway. OSU is fortunate only to be down by 4.

The offensive staff is definitely showing some stubborn arrogance.
Trying to force things and not adjusting.

A playoff game starts 0-0, you can't win it if you aren't in it. Besides the favored team doesn't always win:

The famous quote from Alfred Lord Tennyson, "'tis better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all". Same goes for a playoff game.

I'd kill to have him trotting out on the field in the 2nd half....

Man after digesting that shit sandwich of a half, I can accept most of it:

  • Our D played poorly at times, but overall has stepped up since the first drive.
  • Fields is what he is at this point. It's not like the first half or Indiana games were outliers in his play style. He holds the ball, he forces it, he misses reads. He makes up for it by being the best athlete on the field usually.
  • Overall sloppy play is to be expected with so much time off, disjointed or missing practices and shuffled lineups. We were bound to be rusty.
However, I really struggle to explain the play calling. Wilson and Day are not dummies. Does Day get tunnel vision during games? It wouldn't surprise me as he is responsible for everything. Do we not have a staff that can point this out to him? What is Wilson doing? Play calling for that half was unacceptable.

We all knew that team had a special defense that could hold up against Miami. The media didn’t see it. We did.

What exactly about this team can hold up against Bama?

Okay if I'm being Sober which I'm clearly not...

The reason we were so unstoppable last year is we set up the pass with our amazing run game. Yet this year we are trying to reverse it.

To me we are not playing Ohio State football and we are getting caught up with the idea of how good JF is.

However what's ironic is the reason JF is so good is our run game helps set him up.

If we don't get physical and pound the ball we will lose this game.

Yep

I don’t post on here much but damn where is this playcalling coming from?? Backwards passes?? Where is the TE? They begging for it. Line looks scared to death. Secondary playing soft afraid of being exposed like against IU. Just a very tight team and playcalling not helping them loosen up any. Last dive very disappointing 2 TOs and inside 25 with 1:05 to go. Run the damn ball til they stop it and at least take a shot at FG. Get points considering NW gets ball to start 3rd. Very disappointing in all aspects (except for special teams if I can find any bright spot so far)

Not even remotely comparable. Clemson, Bama, and ND have played twice as many games and are a lot sharper than the Bucks.

If your eyes can't see that it's time to take off the scarlet & gray goggles.

I know you've been around a long time, I just think you're being dramatic. I don't think anyone has gotten ostracized. Fields is obviously struggling, but when you only show up in a game thread when he's playing bad and you say 'I told you so' not sure why you'd expect a pat on the ass.

Don't expect nor want damn a thing. I'm here to post the good with the bad, especially given that I really haven't had time to sit down and watch a game this year while enjoying it with my BP family. That said, there is a certain vindication I'm feeling having my football insight show to have a large degree of accuracy. Sadly it's coming at the expense of seeing my beloved Buckeyes flounder in a big game.
