Back Yard Brawl Experience

Juice, Full of Juice!!
My g/f's dad knows the people in charge of getting all the Pitt Equipment to the stadium so he hooked me up with some sideline passes and locker room access passes to the game. Here are some random thoughts of the game. Mind you I give 2 shit$ about either team

- WVU Fans - Absolute worst. Plain and simple. Say Penn State fans sucked, but these low lives took the hat. When Blades got injured there were cheering, and this continued as the night went on. Then if a player was down a loud PU$$Y, PU$$Y, PU$$Y chnat was over heard. The constant cheers of Pitt Sucks Di** and Palko blows knobs was a little over the top. Overall they have a reputation for being classeless Hillbillies and I will say my firt impression fits that well. I now it was Thanksgiving and bone ass cold but man there were a lot of empty seat

- The Stadium - Not a bad little place to watch some football. All in all it looked like it holds 50,000-60,000 and it was not too bad. Parking on the outside seemed like a majot ckuster, but I will write that off as I was not sure where to go. I did get a good deal and parked next to some trailors err mobile homes for 20.00 so I took it.

- Dave Wanstadt - Super nice guy. Talked with the g/f's little brothers. Hooked them up with some hats and what not, all in all just a really nice guy. His Pregame speech was not that good at all. I was thinking to myself is this his NFL background where they don't need all that Hoo Rah stuff or what, but the players seemed very unammped for the game. He is very excited about Dorin Dickerson coming in...and an OL from Ohio (Thomas) who can not get here soon enough. Not to cause any trouble no players names were used in discussion.

- Ohio/Pitt players - Since I follow Ohio recruting there were several player on the Pitt team I wanted to see up close. Not to down grade anyone but we are not missing anyone of them. The one OL MCGlynn or something seemed to be the best of the bunch but I think we will be ok.

- The Pitt Team - They have toally quit on the season before they even played this game. I heard player complaining that the weather was too cold to play and can not wait to get on the bus. While Pitt was still in the game there were players on the sideline dicking around and laughing... I was like wow this is a Rivalary game? The locker room additude just sucked. At halftine they were all more interested in getting something warm to drink then the game. After all the shitty things that happend that quarter there was no emotion at all.... Just flat and dead. Their defense is pathetic 450+ rushing yards... enough said. Palko is Palko, great kid and could be doing a lot better with a different team around him

- WVU Team - Best in the Big East..... no that is not saying much at all. They are way to one dimensional. I kept thinking to myself.. Penn State will kill these guys if they play in the Orange Bowl..

All in all I was cold and had a good time.. I did start a mini OH-IO cheer while they were doing the Lets Go (one side of the stadium) Mountaineeers(the other side) then 2 WVU students threw beer bottles at me, but maybe I deserved it a little...lol

I have been to a crapload of WVU games in Morganhole. My experiences have usually been pretty good and after the games even better. I would say that WVU is a wannbe big time program that gets a little taste of it every 7-10 years or so.

Was "The Pit" open outside of the stadium? That has to be the most chaotic scene I have ever witnessed at a college football venue. While the cops in Columbus make sure you have your beer in a plastic cup or else, the Morgantown cops only made sure there was enough wood for the bonfire and that the fights were one-on-one.

I heard several stories about the Pit, but I did not see it. I will agree the cops were pretty cool there for the most part. People were actually enjoying the tailgate and the cops were not bothering anyone that didn't need to be messed with. CI saw cops come up to several tailgates where people drinking and chatted with the people etc made sure everyone was safe and what not, so that I respected a lot.

WVU Fans - Absolute worst

Agree totally. I am cursed in living 10 minutes from that damn state. What a hole in the world.

Remember when Marcus Vick got in trouble for flipping off the fans at Morgantown? I was one of the few people who defended him in saying "I am sure that is mild compared to what he had to put up with from the jackasses there." Stick by that to this day. :)

I personally would like to get ahold of WVU in a BCS bowl. Show them what a real defense is like

Agree 100%.

I was at my only game in Morgantown for this incident:

[FONT=Arial, Helvetica]
Miami assistant Randy Shannon was knocked to the ground after he reportedly absorbed a plastic trashcan hurled from the upper deck in 1996.

There were whiskey bottles being passed amongst the student section, beers everywhere, a bonfire in "The Pit" outside, fights, mudslides, and general chaos.

That was the game Miami DB Tremaine Mack blocked the FG and returned it 80 yards to beat the 7-0 Mountaineers.

The place went up in flames that night.
