Let's see...Sending in your forces piece meal is a recipe for disaster. And if your troops don't have the discipline to keep the target a secret, for the element of surprise, you will fail. "Loose lips" as they say. The plan must be cohesive, with each member of the attack having a job to do and knowing that job frontwards and backwards. You should also train everyone to know the everyone else's jobs. You will take casualties and you need to have people who know how to adapt to the changing situation. Any good invasion needs a compotent leader as well. If any of these things are overlooked, your invasion is certainly destined to fail...
