I would say 3 points for a CFB team at home is a bit low. In CFB they should give at least 6 I think.
I would agree with that if it were a true home game for LSU. The fan split for a home game would be in the 85,000 to 8,000 range, the game at the dome will be a much closer ratio than that. Other than a higher fan ratio the Superdome doesn't hold any advantage for LSU. We don't play our games in a dome and we don't have artificial turf at home. We played a NC game there in 2003 and we did play Tulane there this year, so it's not like we play there often.

Actually LSU practices on the same turf type that is in the dome at the indoor facility. We have played in a dome like the Superdome in 2001, 2003, 2005, 2006 and 2007.

Amazing how confident I felt last year going into the NC game and how nervous I am already for this year's version. I'm hoping that's a good thing. I haven't been this nervous about a bowl game since we played "The U." I think this game will look a lot like our last win in the NC. Grind it out, conservative, smash mouth. I could do without the double OT, but if we must...

Actually we do, look at the LSU logo on the ball when we are on offense. :tongue2:

Doesnt everyone??? I was just saying familiarity with the turf and the dome will play no role in the nc game...its like last year when people said wed have an advantage having played in AZ four of the lat five yrs:biggrin:

I am excited, it is kewl to get the shot at OSU. I think in the type of game you speak of, it is a toss-up. That is the types of games LSU has played all year long and that is OSU football.

OT Wins (or losses) don't count - Silly buckeyes!

Well...if we win in OT, then it doesn't count. Don't you know that LSU's two losses didn't count, because the games didn't end in regulation!!!

well with the figure skating nature of college football, coach needed to promote his team. I thought he lost his mind when he said that during the week of the sugar bowl, but it is amazing after last Saturday how the talking head picked up on it. WOW!! I actually think that satement kept LSU in people's minds and then when #1 and #2 fell, it made sense to vote LSU into the NC. Miles is crazy like a fox...

Looking Forward To The Game

First of all, I want to say that it's an honor to have the opportunity to play Ohio State in a National Championship game. The Buckeyes are unquestionably one of the true kings of college football, and you have a tradition that matches any other school.

For us, I think this game is particularly significant because with a second National Title in 5 years (both over very respected coaches and programs) we would take a big step in cementing ourselves as one of the "Historical Powers" in college football, something that we always knew was possible but for various reasons has eluded us since Charles McLendon retired in 1979. The state of our program will be at least partially defined for a generation based on the outcome of this game.

I think we match up well with Ohio State talent wise, but I think the so called "SEC speed" argument is completely ridiculous. Ohio State has more alums playing in the NFL right now, and none of those guys are slow. It scares me to death that a lot of people in the media are favoring us to win, because I know that Ohio State is a proud football program and probably doesn't respond well to that kind of talk. Ultimately I think we have a solid chance to win the game, but that's all it is...a chance. Hopefully our team will be 100% for the game, and although I think Jim Tressel is the best coach in college football, I also think that Les Miles is probably the most underrated because he doesn't always come off well when talking to the media.

In any event, I think it will be a great game and I hope as many Buckeye fans as possible make the trip to New Orleans and have a great experience. We have some overzealous fans, but 99.9% of us are good natured, passionate football fans at heart.

I personally think you made it because you're an EXCELLENT team that won the toughest conference in college football. (ouch...that hurt to say) I understand that Les did what he had to do though.
