Being A Buckeye For One Single Play

WoodyWorshiper

THINK, Before You Speak
Former College Pick'Em Champ
I know I did this a long time ago, and with alot of new users and new options I thought I'd throw it out again.

Basically what I'm asking is if you could put yourself in the shoes of an Ohio State Football player for one single play in history, who would you be and what play would it be? What do you perceive to be the most glorious single moment in Ohio State history for one player.

I know that one certain play in West Lafayette in 2002 will get alot of run here, and deservedly so. I'm a little old'school but not that old. I'll start off with being Keith Byars on his "one-shoed" 74-yard TD against Illinois in 1984. As cool as that play was, it was nowhere near as cool as watching Keith on the sideline, TV camera in his face, screaming "WE'RE COMING BACK" and pointing at the camera. I wish I had that on tape, still get goosebumps thinking about it.

Your thoughts?

I'll take MoC scoring the winning TD in the Fiesta Bowl. I would also like to be Hamby for that play against Texas...would love to be able to actually catch that ball. And no, that is in no way a slam on him.

First player that was on the field during the last play that came to mind.

This is a great thread. Every play listed gets the heart pumping. Mine is actually kind of boring. It doesn't involve a single play or player. All I ever wanted to do was run out of the tunnel for a Michigan game at home. I'll settle for running through the tunnel of pride with the faithful going nuts. My feet would never touch the ground.

Chris Spielman against #1 (at the time) Iowa stuffing Ronnie Harmon on 4th Down with his shirt tail untucked and the tape on his ankles coming undone. He was a mess and he didn't even notice because he and the rest of the team were in such a zone. Being there, soaked to the bone and catching one of the worst colds I've ever had was one of the best experiences of my life. I can scarcely imagine what it was like for #36.

Byars' run was the first play that came to my mind when reading the thread title, Dubs.

Because so many others are already taken, I'll go with these - all of them occurred in Ann Arbor.

Road moments, in chronological order:

Ray Griffin's interception and return to the 3-yard line with the game tied 14-14, and only a couple minutes left in the Pig House in 1975.

Todd Bell picking up the punt blocked by Jim Laughlin to score the winning points in the 1979 scUM game that completed a perfect regular season, 18-15.

Vaughn Broadnax clearing the way for Art Schlichter's winning TD against scUM in 1981.
