Bengals WR Chris Henry (official thread)

Just got back from vacationing in Gatlingburg, TN. I had the good fortune to witness a woman in the back of a pick up truck trying to hold up a used refrigerator while her significant other drove up the mountain side. One hand was used to hold the refrigerator while the other tightly grasped a cigarette. All I could think of is this woman obviously has never heard of Chris Henry. Unfortunately, she looked like she belonged in Appalachian bowling alley and she was wearing a tOSU shirt. I keep telling myself the shirt was stolen...

^^ On our honeymoon (July 06) in Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge, we drove through the rocky smoky mountains with an old grandma sitting in a lawn chair in the back of a pickup truck. We followed them for about a half hour. She wasn't holding anything, she just wanted to enjoy the view and fresh air

I think you meant to say the Smoky Mountains. :wink2: Fortunately for the Rocky Mountains, they're nowhere near Gatlinburg.

Their tourist traps are a lot more enjoyable:

Another deceased football player discovered with brain damage.

Researchers: Chris Henry had brain damage at the time of his death - ESPN

It would explain the poor judgment--might help his family to know there was an explanation that was really beyond Henry's control.

Overall, that's a very distressing article--puts football (in spite of state-of-the-art helmets) up there with boxing as a sport you participate in for a few years, then pay for the rest of your life. Not pretty. :(

I realize that this is never going to happen, but IMO, the only solution is either weight limits or getting rid of the helmets altogether.

Somewhere on my cellphone I have a picture of a distant relative of mine, sitting in his wheelchair in the back of a pickup truck heading to church. I live in Arkansas...nuff said.

If you install the Astroturf right it's damn near impossible to fall out.
