Best place to buy a used car/truck

BuckStocksHere

Semper Fi!
I have no idea where they come up with these prices but they are fantastic...

I ran two through Kelley Blue Book and came up with the exact figure they have listed on their website.

I now know 2 people from my office that bought cars there. It's probably too far for you guys in Ohio, but well worth the 2 hour drive I would have from Western PA.

just a heads up for anyone looking for a hell of a deal on used car/truck/other(i saw a dump truck on here once!)

Blue Knob Auto

When we bought my Durango, about 6 weeks ago, the guy treated me really good. (Granted it's through a buy-here-pay-here, but it's the best deal I've ever got!!)

I had gotten my Grand Am from him about 6 months prior w/no down payment, and $200.00 per month. When I traded that in for my Durango, he again, did the no down payment, gave me 500.00 credit from my pontiac, and my payments are under $300.00 per month. The truck is in perfect shape, 4 wheel dr, leather seats, it's got everything. I have terrible credit, 2 divorces, 2 forclosures (1 from each ex-asshole), and I don't have a lot of options when it comes to buying a car. This guy has known me for a long time (small town perks), and he's really worked with me!!

There is no way... I mean no way I would ever buy from a Car Rental agency... I rented a car almost every week for the past 4 years and Buckeye Buh Nim is right on. I beat down the rentals like a rented mule...

from a Edmunds article...................
Rental Used Car Lots

Both Lovejoy and Shebesta see nothing wrong with buying used vehicles that have been used as rental cars.

The oft-cited criticism of former rental cars is that the drivers who rent them abuse them. That might be true in a few cases, Lovejoy said. But there are other benefits to offset that argument.

"Those (rental) companies take good care of the cars," Lovejoy said. "And the rental car agencies buy them right to begin with ? at net, net, net numbers (invoice price minus the hold back, minus the advertising costs and the like). But for peace of mind, you would probably like to have a third-party inspection because not all rental cars are alike ? there are some plums and some peaches."

In an Edmunds.com story, two editors went used car shopping. One of their stops was a rental agency used car lot. They found the prices to be competitive. Furthermore, the vehicles are only one year old, so the balance of the warranty is still in effect.

When I did a bit of traveling for a company back in the 70's and 80's we would routinely beat these rental cars. 360 degree turns on the Chicago freeways, the guy driving called them "Rockford Files" turns for those that remember James Garner. Hertz wouldn't rent to us anymore because they looked that they had been rode hard and put away wet. Of course, these are different times and Rockford has been replaced with Gone in Sixty Seconds.

In the T-Town area, I like the Nice Car Company in Sylvania. Very clean cars and none look they just ran in the Preakness.

Gone in 60 Seconds was in theaters the same year that Rockford first hit the air.

1974

Good catch. I totally forgot about the first Gone in 60 Seconds. I guess I was making an obscure reference to the way he drove his cars vs car theft.

Nic Cage did the remake, who was in the first?

New or used cars aren't moving off the lots... the managers will do whatever to move cars.

I purchased a 16 month old car for half off the new price and $3,500 below KBB's trade-in value.

These guys want cars off their lot...

It was Toby Halicki's baby. He wrote, produced, directed and starred in it. He also did most of the driving in Elanor himself as well.

Pretty much everyone in the film was either friends with or related to Halicki as well. Luckily he was buds with a lot of racers who show up in the film (Al Unser, Parnelli Jones, Gary Bettenhausen etc...).
