Biased Strength of Conference Poll

starBUCKS

BPCFFB League #2 League Champion 2008 & 2010
It's amusing to see how biased the poll on the Arizona Republic's web site is. Not suprising that it's in Pac-10 country. I think they read it as " Who is your favorite Conference?" instead. WHAT IS THE STRONGEST CONFERENCE GOING INTO THIS SEASON? PAC-10 48.54% Big 10 20.42% SEC 17.24% Big 12 9.81% ACC 2.92% Other 1.06% Total Votes: 377

Would you really expect anything different? If the poll was in Texas or Oklahoma, 80% would probably go to the Big 12...

Polls from idiot pundits: worthless
polls from anonymous one click voting on a website: don't even bother

I find it dramatically dumb that people rate the pac10 as really tough b/c of USC. Yes they are very good, but I still don't buy any argument that their other teams are very good. They aren't going to all be pushovers like people expect this year, but that doesn't mean they are good either.

They don't have one other team that's capable of going the distance. The Big ten has 3-4, as does the SEC, the Big12 has 2, and the ACC has 3 (at least once Miami & FSU rebound).

the SEC, Big 10, and ACC are also a lot deeper than the Big 12 and Pac 10. Second tier teams like Penn State (currently), NC State, or Alabama would be top notch in the Pac 10 and Big 12 north... not so much in the south.
