From the official OSU website:
Ohio State survived a pitcher's duel and scored once in the fifth and twice in the seventh before allowing two Minnesota runs in the bottom of the eighth to beat the Golden Gophers 3-2 Saturday night in the Big Ten Tournament and force a second championship game. If the Buckeyes can beat Minnesota at 1:05 p.m. (EDT) Sunday, they would become the first conference team to win three straight tournament titles.

Ohio State swept three games to win the 2002 Big Ten Championship and came out of the loser's bracket after losing its second game against the Gophers to defeat Minnesota twice on championship Sunday. The Buckeyes are 7-0 facing elimination in the Big Ten tournament since last season, beating Penn State once and Minnesota twice in 2003 and winning a pair of doubleheaders this season, downing Michigan State and Purdue Friday, while bouncing Michigan before claiming the first game against Minnesota Saturday night. The host school has not won the tournament since 1995 when the Buckeyes won in Columbus.

Ohio State didn't get selected for any regional, while several teams with losing records (including my beloved Youngstown State) got in, obviously due to winning their conference tournament to get an automatic bid (which is absolute bullshit, if you ask me). YSU (22-30) is scheduled to play Texas (50-13) Friday at Disch-Falk Stadium in Austin, Texas. Other teams with losing records that made the big dance are Pepperdine (28-30) and Texas Southern (18-33). Bethune-Cookman (27-26) also made it despite being a whole game over .500.

I believe I read where 9 SEC teams made the tournament, which is an all time record. I guess I am surprised with OSU's recent history of getting in the tournament, their record, and fine season that they weren't selected.

Even with Coach Todd on the selection committee, we still got hosed. I just hope Coach Todd doesn't try his hand somewhere in the south, where he won't have to put up with this BS. Let's hope he signs a contract soon.
