Any Husker's fans have any commentary on the 'new' Big XII - in terms of the unfair deal holding it together? If I understand your fan base right, that was a big reason to get out in the first place. Anyway, now that you're one of us, you can spill all the Big XII's dirty laundry.

Of course Tech doesn't like the deal. They were about to get a trip to the Pac10 with equal revenue till Texas screwed it up. Now they expect them to gladly take less TV money and less money from the buyout and say thank you to Texas for holding to conference together.

I am going to take off the scarlet colored glasses for a moment. Its seems like most folks on this thread have no problem with the Big 10 playing cutthroat in terms of forcing the hands of teams (ND, Texas, etc) to join the conference in order to increase the $, power and prestige of the Big 10. So why get pissy when Texas does the same in their own self-interest??

I wanted Texas as much as anyone but I am not going to gripe about their actions in their own self-interest.

1 - Power of conference v. power of a single team/school, there's a difference.
2 - I don't have any problem with Texas doing what it did either. Great short term decision. Stupid in the long run.

They've just become "King Nothing" and everyone knows their conference is held together with chewed gum.

Since the Big XII is now the "Texas' Bitches" conference, can the Big Ten take the Big XII name?

I agree that there is nothing wrong with them looking out for themselves.

What's puzzling to me is how short-sighted this approach seems to be in terms of a lasting money-maker.

What surprises me is how willing these school are to bend over for Texas, OU and now aTm without even looking at other possible options first. There may not be much in the way of better options but jesus stick up for yourselves a little.

I agree...you wonder if the Pac 10 would have taken them without Texas/OU...if so, I would have bolted.

And if I was Mizzu I would of been making last ditch ovations to the Big10 saying please please take us. I don't care if we don't get a full a share for 10-20. Just get us out of this mess.

I don't think the BigTen would've 'rescued' them in that scenerio. Delany still needs a linchpin in the BigXII 2.0. :sneaky:
