Big Ten Championship game

The media are already coming up with controversial talking points for a game 3 weeks from now? Also, I'm pretty sure Utah does not factor into B1G standings, but maybe I'm wrong, there's a lot of things I don't understand about Utah.

I have heard that If Michigan beats Ohio State, that Michigan would get the nod to play in the BIG championship game. How can that be if Michigan already lost to Utah and Mich. State.

I'm guessing given the same number of conference losses they would go to the head to head matchup. If OSU lost to MSU and beat scUM the 2 losses might come into play and put MSU in the title game. Not 100% sure how that would work. If all 3 teams finished 11-1 in the above scenario they would wait for the Playoff Committee and the highest ranked team would go to the championship game. That way all 3 teams would have to practice for Iowa for a couple days before they know if they actually get to play them.

In the scenario that tOSU is undefeated going into The Game, that would mean Sparty has 2 conference losses...and if the unthinkable happens and scum wins The Game; both scum and tOSU would have one conference loss and I believe that the head to head tie breaker for the B1G east champion would go to scum:eek:

I just puked a little in my mouth:ohno:

In the event of a 3 way tie the tie breaker is (iirc) highest rated team in CFP poll (used to be BCS)

EDIT
It couldn't be a 3 way tie now that Sparty lost

never mind

pretty sure that is the tie breaker for a 3 way tie though

It's really pretty simple, in terms of who wins the Big Ten East:

- OSU (obviously, without any current losses) and MSU (by virtue of their win over Michigan, even though they also have a conference loss) each control their own destiny.
- Michigan, with their loss to MSU, needs some help. They need each of OSU and MSU to lose a game.

Right....but that changes to OSU and Michigan control their own destiny if OSU beats MSU. Michigan doesn't have to do anything and they could still control their own destiny in a couple weeks.

They have to get past the Pedsters in Slappy Valley before they control their own destiny in The Game

That isn't going to be an easy match up for them.

That is a good point that I overlooked. I was under the impression that the game with the pedsters would be at Michigan. 2 away games could be a big climb for them before we go to Ann Arbor.

Congratulations to msu. Dantonio and the rest of their coaches continue to prove they are some of the best coaches in college football. Iowa was very impressive as well. Msu beat Iowa the same way they beat us. Believe in their guys, never gave up on running game. Stick with what works, fight for every yard, put the ball in your leaders hands. I give msu a good chance of winning it all.
