Bill O’Brien (HC Boston College, aka BillyBob O’Buttchin et al)

Have you ever been demoted? It doesn't tend to go that smoothly. Luckily, Hartline seems to love OSU and I'd guess Day talked to him.
No but I’ve never made 7 figures for a job. Day is coaching for his job, you want him to not try to hire someone with a lot of experience and hand it over to Hartline to keep him happy ? You really really feel like Hartline was the TRUE OC last year or was he OC in name only?

How is Hartline demoted? He wasn't playcalling. He's still OC in training, just training from a different guy.
Also can't see BOB here for a long time. This is a Schiano-esque hire. If it works, he's back to a HC job in 2 years. If it doesn't, he's gonna be gone.

I thought it was a tough day for Bama when Saban retired, this has to be a close second for OSU. O’Brien is terrible. No creativity.he doesn’t scheme matchups, which I think is essential for CFB.

This is a concern. If he just tries to run some base, stale NFL scheme.

College is where you should be creative, open up and take advantage of talent disparity against kids that are going pro in something other than sports.

OSU’s #3 future pro WR should be torching whatever matchup he has vs some future real estate agent or whatever.

Agree 100%. The only reason he had a decent offense during his tenure at Bama is because Bryce was so gifted and was a magician on broken plays. There was never any WR separation until they started to improvise. The offense also tended to look good in a 2 minute drill.
