Bob Huggins (EX West Virginia Head Coach)

Wow, her take on this surely is very different to mine. One of the poorest, least educated states in the US that has lost almost 5% of its population in the last decade and has a low number of students attending university historically. WVU is not and never will be Ohio State.

I'm sure your Daddy isn't a bad man but you just can't do the things he has done in his personal life and expect that your professional life would not be affected. He needs to go into rehab and get himself truly healthy.

The amendment to Bob Huggins’ employment agreement at West Virginia, signed on May 9, contains two significant modifications to the veteran coach’s existing contract.
The first, already generally known, reduces his overall compensation for the upcoming season by $1 million, making his total pay for the upcoming 2023-24 season $3,125,000. The second, a change in the term and circumstances for continued employment, is more far-reaching and potentially more damaging.
First, the amendment ends Huggins’ employment as head coach on April 30, 2024. Any potential retention of Huggins after that date will be at the “sole and absolute discretion” of the school.

I'll say Huggins (and his lawyer) know that he'll never coach at WVU again; however, I'm guessing that he just (temporarily) sobered up and realized that he needs the $3M (i.e. severance package) to pay his bar bills, etc. In reality, what he probably really needs is to get into some alcohol addiction rehab program, etc.

He's the gift that keeps giving. I seem to remember hearing stories that he really wanted the Ohio State job after we whacked Randy Ayers, but we never even gave him an interview. That was at the time of his peak, but we still dodged a bullet.
