Boise State 17, TCU 10 (final) Fiesta Bowl

As far as "team speed" goes, it is a stupid argument when used against Ohio State, and it is an equally stupid argument when used against Boise State. "Team speed" is largely irrelevant on the football field anyway ... Boise State won a huge game - just like we did - so why not give them a little credit, just like we expect to get from others?
1. Anybody who claims team speed is irrelevant in college football loses credibility immediately. The problem with the charge that Ohio State lacks team speed is NOT that team speed is unimportant. It's that Ohio State is one of the fastest teams in college football. Any boob could see that the same could scarcely be said of Boise State.

2. I give credit to Boise for beating TCU, and I give them credit for their (highly fluky) win in the 2007 Fiesta Bowl against Oklahoma. To a much lesser degree, I credit them for their 2009 win against Oregon, but the game was played on their stupid "smurf turf" where BSU has an extreme unfair advantage because their unis allow their players to blend into the background. This is a situation that would prevent me ever from playing them at their home field, and I think the NCAA should address the problem.

3. If you really believe Indiana and Minnesota are remotely comparable as opponents to UC Davis and Louisiana Tech, we really are talking from different galaxies. BSU plays against air, and Big Ten football is not air.

FWIW, they beat Oregon last year in Eugene too.
