Howsabout we add a poll to this thang?
That would work. I voted yes. A team that goes undefeated, no matter what conference they play in, deserves a shot at the National Championship. I think they proved they can play with the big boys against Oklahoma.

If they have any kind of recent history winning bowl games, then yes, I think they should get a shot at a future title. If Boise State runs the table next year, then I think it would be worth a look.

Hell, teams that consistently lose their bowl games get serious BCS consideration year after year (ie U of M, ND, etc), so why not the little guys that are actually showing up to play?

It took a major set of stones to go for the 2 point conversion in OT. Wouldn't it be great to see more games like that?

Results from previous years should have no bearing on anything.

I personally think a playoff system would really diminish the importance of regular season games, but I do like the idea of a +1 game for any remaining unbeatens. I think out of principle, a team like BSU (or Auburn a couple years ago) deserves a chance at the National Title... though I have no doubt we'd trounce BSU.

I don't think results from more than 3 years back mean much either. But I do think you have to consider which players are returning, how much of the coaching staff is intact, what a big bowl win does for their recruiting class, etc.

Of course, it really doesn't matter what I think, because I don't have a vote in a poll, nor am I related to anybody that does, nor would my crying in a camera get anyone to vote the way I wanted them to anyhow.

But I sure do enjoy watching a cinderella team shake up the status quo.

If it wasn't for the refs, they probably would have been in the NC discussion.

Not really. Even if you discount the Oregon loss Texas handled them 28-10 while Florida's only loss was a much-closer-than-the-score-indicated 27-17 at Auburn. scUM would've gotten in before Oklahoma too.
