Bold statements from Carp

I thought we played as well as we are capable against Wisky, and just got beat by a better team, mostly because of Turnovers.

Northwestern and Iowa you may be able to make a case for, but really that is a weak statement.

If you had given the Indiana players and coaches New England Patriots' Uniforms we would have beaten them. It's the talent.

Let me try to explain further.

They say that they if they would have played like that against Iowa or Wisconsin, or Northwestern they would have won.

They are right, but to a point.

If they would have dominated on the offensive line, if they would have played better on defense, if they had run the ball, if they had been lucky in the passing game.... they would have beaten those teams.

The reason that they didn't however is because the players in the Iowa, Northwestern, and especially the Wisconsin Uniforms are much better.

Hopefully that makes it more clear.

We have studs all over the place on this team. Talent is not the problem with OSU.

We have little experience on the O and D lines

We have first year QB's

Our best RB is a freshmen that started for the first time on Saturday.

We don't have experience where it counts the most.

Do I think we should be at least 5-2...yes I do.

The only game we have really blown is NW. We were handled in the Iowa and Wisky games.

We have had a multitude of problems from coaching to discpline. The list is long and is not worth the time to write.

We can heal and set ourselves up for a run next year but we have to do it now. Saturday we saw a glimpse of the POSSIBILITIES!!!!

Better leadership, better coaching and playcalling, more intensity, more discipline, and playing as a team will get us to a nice bowl game. We are not there yet but we are moving in the right direction. The PSU game will tell us alot.

I still don't buy it...this team has not come close to its potential...at least potential on paper. Iowa nor Northwestern does not have better personnel...Wisky is up for debate

I love the confidence from Carp and the expectations...its refreshing if nothing else.

Carpenter, despite his great stats and being named defensive player of the game by the TV announcers, was still missing tackles in the Indiana game that a starter for Ohio State should be making. For instance, towards the end of the game, it was Hawk chasing the guy down that Carp missed.

Not knowing any more than what I can see on TV and read from the press conferences, Carpenter seems to get a big head. After he made the interception against Northwestern, which was a great play, he was laughing it up on the sideline and looked pretty damned content despite the fact we were still losing to Northwestern in the 4th quarter.

I almost never post negatively about any Buckeye player, but considering the vast amount of talent Carp possesses, I can't help but wish that he would be a little more Hawk-like, and do his talking on the field. I guess it's just seeing shades of the attitudes some of the Buckeye players had towards the end of the Cooper era that bother me, and I hope that's not the case with Carp.

A great ending to this tumultuous season? Spoiling scUM's hopes.
Thats my bowl game !!! If we beat them then this season is still a good one for me.

If we can keep the ball rolling, keep improving mainly on offense and tweek the defense, and be successful against a pretty good PSU defense; OSU will win. Then OSU's defense really has to step it up alot to beat a quietly steady MSU offense/defense. They are not all that bad if you look at them. That will be a very telling game. Next, the only way OSU beats Purdue is if OSU stops those fast timing routes in the soft part of OSU's zone defense. I saw alot of Wr's for Indiana just sitting wide open in the soft part of that zone defense. If OSU minimizes Orton to 200 yrds passing, then OSU may have a good day. Purdue can be passed on and a good Rb can do well against them at times. Very solid, very consistent but not amazingly great defense for Purdue.
The Last best test will be the GREATEST, most Anticipated Rivalry in all of sports ..... Thee Ohio State Buckeye vs. tsun. M#chigan has a solid defense, a very good set of Wr's, and a good Rb that surrounds an ever improving QB. OSU showed some promise this past week but OSU will have to reduce those pentalties (NO FRAKIN PENALTIES PLEASE!!!) and no turnovers; then OSU has a chance. Tsuns' DB's can be beaten BUT they are very good. It will be harder to run on them though. Only 2 opposing RB's have been able to rack up 100 or more yrds to date. OSU has got to break that trend and have a balanced game to even have a chance and YES they do have the potential and talent. Also OSU's defense has got to stop Chad Henne from getting into any kind of rythme. Throw everything and the kitchen sink his way. OSU cannot let those great Wr's get behind them and let Chadd throw all day to them. OSU will not be able to stop tsun's Wr's but may be able to minimize the damage. If OSU does that then they have a chance. I am ever hopeful !!! OSU has a chance, it's slim but if they improve in the next two weeks then it will look even better... MSU will be a telling game ...
OSU can still SHOCK THE WORLD and win out !!!
(ok a lil dramatic but a guy can dream hahaha)
