BP Fantasy Baseball (2008-2023, Current Champion = MD Buckeye)

Still got three openings if Jake is planning on running this with 12 teams. Nine are in right now, but I'm pretty sure there were 12 last season ? I'm not positive though, because I took over for somebody late in the season.

Last call for Roberto Heredia. Your spot is still being held but time is almost up. Check your email for the invitation sent to you last month.

Two other spots are left due to inactive players not being invited back this year. Unfortunately, that's been a recurring problem so those who sign up will be screened via their Yahoo profiles. It's not perfect but it's the only thing I can check, so if your profile is weak you could be booted before the draft. Most players are active but I'd like ALL to be active.

Here's the sign up info (Yahoo):

I've got nine starting pitchers, so if anyone is interested in getting another SP, take a look (Kelly's Killers). Got caught up trying to find good starters early in the draft & totally neglected getting some good batters. Really regretting doing so now, but good pitchers are always valuable, so pretty much any of my SP's are fair game.

I wish I could say I was drunk but I actually drafted my piece of [Mark May] roster sober. :bonk:

I wasn't pleased with my team either. Got tunnel vision on getting a good starting pitching staff & completely neglected getting quality batters. Just accepted a trade offered to me in Josh Hamilton & Martin Prado for Matt Holiday and Cole Hamels. Didn't really want to part with Hamels, but I really needed some offensive help badly.

I'll delete this if random fantasy discussion is frowned upon here, but I have a draft tonight and I have to decide between Matt Kemp and Andrew McCutchen in a standard, non-keeper, 5x5 league. Who should I take? Kemp's injuries worry me but I think McCutchen's average is going to go down quite a bit and I'm just not sure he's a mid 1st round pick guy.

In the 2nd round I have the 20th pick. Is that too early to take Bryce Harper?

Since I wasn't really pleased with my starting pitching, I thought the trade was fair both ways. I liked having both Zobrist and Prado on my team because of their position flexibility, but I needed a #1 starter more as Sale was my best starter before the trade. Tough to part with Hamilton, but you have to give up something good in order to get something good in return!

I like McCutchen slightly more than Kemp and generally consider him a safer pick, but really, they're just about the same guy.

20th may be a bit too high for Harper, but it wouldn't be outlandish. If you're that confident in him becoming a 30/20 or 30/30 guy this season, why not pick him if you want him and don't think he'll be there on the way back?

I would've held out for Zobrist over Prado.

This deal looks reasonable to me but I'll give the masses the requisite time to let me know if they see something untoward about it.

I couldn't really say no it either. I think it was ideal for both of us given our needs. Prado can play anywhere in my lineup & Hamilton brings much needed power. You get an excellent pitcher in Hamels & Holliday makes up for the loss of Hamilton.

I didn't really think he would've gone for that had I countered. I think he's getting a little bit of a better deal out of it, but nothing too significant. I needed the offensive help badly, or I would've been in trouble all season.
