hmmmm I have only done this league so excuse my ignorance but what is the difference?

I meant dailly lineups, weekly contest between 2 teams.

The alternative is a traditional 5x5 where you accumulate all season long.

Im pretty sure our league is daily because I agree with you that it is part of the fun. Its like my morning coffee....log into pc....go straight to fantasy basbeall lineup lol

So it's not just me.

I'm not sure Jax meant that or a roto league where you accumulate stats all year. That's how I started playing but I prefer the current format to roto.

rotisserie

i love doing both...prefer head 2 head but will play in any type of format...both require different strategies which make it alot of fun

how does a rotisserie league work?

a rotisserie league is where you accumulate stats for different categories for the entire season....there isnt a playoffs and you are not head to head vs another team each week, you are going against the entire league for the entire year...so for example say there is 10 teams in the league, and there is 8 categories (HR, AVG, OBP, SB, ERA, WHIP, SV, K's)...my team is first place in the homerun category with 20 HR's total, so i am awarded 10 points for that category...another team has 19 HR's total so he is awarded 9 points for that category, team with 3rd most HR's gets 8 points and so on...it is like this for each category and the point system is based i believe on how many teams are in the league...so if we had 8 teams then the most points you could receive for each category would be 8....your total score is based on how many total points you have for each category...so a example score could be:
HR - 10, AVG - 5, OBP - 6, SB - 10, ERA - 7, WHIP - 9, SV - 1, K's - 5 = 53 (if my math is correct)....53 is first place, 2nd place had a score of say 50....so the cool thing is your score will fluctuate daily and you could lose a category or gain a category in the matter of a AB by a player...just depends on how close you are to overtaking someone else in that particular category....finally, my team is good at HR's and stolen bases and i am either purposely losing the save category (no closers) or i could use help in that category and could look to make a trade for some closers...sometimes people will punt a category to then load up on another category...ive found its better to try and be good in every category...but you will see some stranger trades in rotisserie because someone may trade a paul konerko for a micheal bourn because they are heavy in HR's and could use some SB's

i know this was long but i hoped it helped somewhat...if not there are plenty of FAQ's of rotisserie leagues on the net

I'm definitely in but I've been offline at home due to remodeling. I'll sign in as soon as I'm back up and rolling. Sorry for the inconvenience. I can access BP at work but any fantasy sports sites are blocked.

What exactly in the fuck do they think you are supposed to do at work all day then?
