what is up with this mini-quote button?

Best place to check it out is the test forum. Grab a thread that has 5+ posts. Go in, and click the multi-quote button on, say, the top 2-3. Then click the normal quote button on something further down. You'll then get a Reply to Thread page up with everything in there waiting for you. It's how I made this response, and I'm already enjoying its functionality. In the past, I would quote one person, respond, submit -- then quote another, copy that quote, close the new reply, edit the first one, append, respond, submit, lather-rinse-repeat ad nauseam. Much nicer this way. (I cheated and C&P'd this respond from another post.)

What is intended with the iSpy feature?

Some people reload a lot looking for new posts during the busier parts of the day. This isn't a bad thing, but if you have a bunch of people doing it all at the same time -- say, during a game, it can have a slight but perceptible impact on load times. Leave that page up a while, without reloading or refreshing it checks to see if anything's happened around the site a few times (more than 2, less than 7) a minute, and if there are new posts, slips them up a the top of the list.

Yeah, iSpy is just what this site needed, especially for game threads and whatnot. Maybe call it bpSpy or Thread Tracker or or something like that? Does that use Ajax? (the programming language, not the cleaner)

It uses both. 220, 221... whatever it takes.

Yeah, it's AJAX (the language) based.

As out of date the original post in this thread is, I'm removing the sticky and letting it slip into a long overdue retirement to post purgatory. We'll miss you tracker. Not much, but the hollow sentiment is generally warranted in this sort of a farewell.

Speaking of sticky's, there is quite a few in the main recruiting board. Would it make sense to create a sub forum for commited buckeyes? I often browse with a smartphone, and have to scroll half way down the page. Keep up all the hard work. Go Bucks!!

Doubt that will change anytime soon jrandosu. Those stickies are generally committed recruits that folks want to access quickly. The stickies are confined to just the first page and not subsequent pages, so it limits the clutter to a degree. The stickies used to display on all pages. I know this doesn't help in your situation, but that's the long and short of it all.
