How much bandwidth does BuckeyePlanet go through each month?
Just curious.

BuckeyeNation;851426; said:Thanks. Do you know how many gigabytes that would be?
BuckeyeNation;851481; said:I guess it's a bad idea to ask questions around here. Sorry about that. You know it may be simple math to you but I am pretty sure that a large majority of people couldn't do that.

60 seconds x 60 minutes x 24 hours = 86,400 seconds in a day.
30 days (avg. month) x 86,400 = 2,592,000 seconds in a day.
Avg bit rate of 2mbps (2 million bits per second) = 250,000 bytes per second.
2,592,000 seconds x 250,000 bytes per second = 648,000,000,000 bytes (648 gigabytes) per month.
Took me all of about 30 seconds to figure this out (about four times longer to type it).
Again, not trying to an ass-clown, but this stuff just gets to me.

You think a large majority of people know how to add 2 mbps into a lengthy calculation?MililaniBuckeye;851511; said:I sure hope thats' not true...

Many users can't figure out how to post a picture on the new scout boards, which merely requires a simple <img src> html tag, or a copy & paste. If they can't figure that out, I'd imagine they'd be unable to figure out, or at least intimidated by, the value of 2 mbps.MililaniBuckeye;851539; said:Uh, it's not a "lengthy calculation", it's simple deduction. If you know the per-second speed rating and want to know the speed rating for the month, all you have to do is figure out how many seconds there in a month and then multiply (oh wait, I had to throw in that really hard part where you had to convert 8 bits to 1 byte ).
I'm not denying that...Today's basic, common, every-day math skills suck.
