Browns(-2.5) at Ravens

Meh, having traded away Brees for Rivers I will say, if you have success don't fuck with it. You may think that guy is the next superbowl winning quarterback or he could be a guy with a 70 rating. I don't see the Browns offense as being a huge problem, however, I do see a lot of problems in the defense. If they can fill the holes there they are a legitimate playoff team.

If you trade DA and keep BQ who's to say he's going to help you guys? Hell, how many first round quarterbacks turn out to suck? And how good was he in college against teams with an actual defense?

Leaf, Couch come to mind, without thinking. I think BQ is going to SUCK!!! I like DA, needs to focus a little more but he's rookie more or less. I hope BQ rides the pine forever, he did go to Not e Lame

There is no such thing as shut down coverage in the NFL. It's all about pressure. Give an average QB in the NFL time and he'll get a good completion on you. Even in college it's risky. Thats why 30 DEs get drafted in the NFL every year. Just the chance of finding a Lineman that can get pressure on his own is worth the spot. That's also why Champ and Bly are having average years in Denver... no pressure.

I didn't say anything about "shut down coverage", but it would be nice to get SOMETHING at least akin to average out there. There's a difference between middle of the pack and last in the league, and it's not just because they don't get a ton of pressure on the QB.

Ive noticed the Browns seem to get better pressure in the first half of both the Pit game ant Balty... maybe they arent deep enough to keep their guys fresh.

Or because some of these teams start throwing crossing patterns and underneath routes where the Cleveland defenders have their heads turned.....

I don't think he's out of line at all. If we could get a 1st and 3rd round pick for him, I'd do it in a minute. DA has gotten better, but the system is much better also and I think BQ will do well in it too. I think DA is some of the reason we are better, but not the reason.

He is one of those QB's who you can love and hate within 5 minutes. One minute he's threading the needle and the next he throwing it right to a defender or at our guys feet. I guess what I'm saying is that I think DA has helped us, but his trade value will never be higher. I'm afraid he may show his true colors soon and we won't get shit for him. I'm not sold that he's an elite qb....servicable, but not elite.

There's nothing out of line for having an opinion, however, Derek Anderson had 117 passing attempts coming into this season. He's still essentially an unknown quantity (although he is looking better and better) in the NFL. I can think of at least 6 teams off of the top of my head that would want him right now.

If other teams want him, perhaps the Browns should re-evaluate their panic move this offseason in trading with the Cowboys. They didn't know, but now they do.

If you guys don't think we should trade DA sometime during the off-season how much money do you want to give him for a long-term contract since he is a RFA at the end of this season. You really want to tie it up the majority of our cap space on 2 QBs? We need a lot of help on defense and we do not have a first-round pick this year. If we have the majority of our money tied up in QBs how are we going to sign some free-agent defensive help or get some draft picks.

Comparing Anderson to Manning is just stupid. I am just saying that I think Anderson has been inconsistent in the past couple games and I don't think that his short game is very good. I also don't like tying up all of our money on two QBs. If you could tell me where we can get the draft picks or money and still hold on to 2 QBs I would love to hear your advice.

Well as for money, DA won't be getting Tony Romo money quite yet. In fact, chances are he won't eclipse what Brady Quinn is getting unless there is a ton of interest out there.

And the Browns have plenty of room under the cap. They can support having another $4-5 Million a year QB given that Ted Washington, Willie McGinest and possibly LeCharles Bentley may be coming off the books.

If the Browns are going to cut the QB that has brought them back to respectability that is a STUPID move. They finally have an offense that can score on just about anyone and throwing away the QB who commanded the ship is a bad idea. It isn't like there's a super running game like what the Chargers had when they did the same thing with Brees and Rivers.

Serviceable QBs have won the Super Bowl before. But worrying about that is getting the cart before the horse with this team.

I'm not going to say it was a great game but it was a great win by the Brownies. Keep it going fellas. GO BROWNIES, WOOF, WOOF, WOOF!

Gotta enjoy it while it lasts. In the NFL, unless you're Indy, Pittsburgh or New England, you never know how many good season you're gonna get.

Well that's not very nice.

I'm bitching about it every time they win and every time Julius Jones has a negative play. Get used to it.
Settle down, Sparky, it's a joke. But with what we hear as Browns' fans, well, maybe you should get used to it?

Proud of the Brownies this year!!!

My lone negative is would someone please send a memo to Todd G that the prevent defense only prevents "wins" for the team doing it?

When the blitz is working against Boller; then I suggest you continue blitzing his ass.
