Bryant Gumbel = A-hole

Did anyone else catch this weeks episode of Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel ?? At the end of the Show he criticized the NFL for giving 1 million dollars, and having a telethon that raised 5 million for Katrina relief.

He said with the NFLs Tv deal ( I think the quote was 18 billion) it was the equalivelent to a millionaire giving 56 dollars, and he will alway remember the way his hometown was treated by the NFL.

What a ingrate! What goes through a mans mind to stand in a disaster area and ask "Where is the National Football League !"

If his house is still standing, I hope someone burns it down !!

No. They used Robert Stack to play him, because he was a more believable "Bryant Gumble."

It's annoying how people have the nerve to almost DEMAND money from other people. He's saying, "Thanks for helping with $6 million, now give New Orleans more money. DO!" And the NFL giving $6 million is not the same as a millionaire giving $56. It is the same as a millionaire giving $6 million. And it's the same as if I gave $6 million, or anyone else giving $6 million. If someone gives $6 million to New Orleans relief it doesn't matter how much of his percentage that money is. It's still $6 million.

Couldn't find a bit of news about this...

Because of course it hasn't happened. And, lest you think I'm stretching too far HBO is itself a Billion dollar Corporation, Real Sports is one of their "flagship" sports programs - so, by Bryant's logic, what's sauce for the goose should be sauce for the Gumbel.

Come to think of it "Bryant's Logic" sounds like the title of a made-for-TV weepie movie about a mentally challenged kid trying to complete high school math.

I agree. This guy is an asshat. Where does he get off telling willing donors that their contribution isn't sufficient?

Has he included the personal donations of the NFL's players? What about the time spent on location by the players, coaches, and personnel? What's that worth to him?
