Fantasy BuckeyePlanet Fantasy Football - The Deuce

Decided to roll the dice with Vincent Jackson instead of Santonio Holmes given the Jets struggles of late and the matchup with the Steelers.

Long way to go still in the playoffs but you gotta love it when a hunch pays off to the tune of 100+ yards and 3 TDs. :)

Again, going to make another plea to change the waiver wire system next year...I started out 2-5 because of coaching (missing the draft and not being online to make FA pickups)...been red hot the last two months now that I can be near a computer on Sundays.

Good luck next weekend Bipolar Bears and FanaticallyFanatical...

My other league has a pretty nice system.

Free agents are frozen at kickoff on Sunday (I'm not sure if that extends to thursday late in the year).

You can bid on free agents using your $100 budget (virtual dollars, not actual0. The top bid gets the player on tuesday.

From tuesday through the first game kickoff, you can add and drop players for free.

Yea, Fanatic i thought i had you going into the night game....but that all changed. Not often you see the top 2 seeds actually make it to the championship game.

I do agree we need to have some waiver wire. The other league i'm in, all players freeze on at Sunday 1pm and you can put in waiver requests until Weds morning. The waivers are then processed Wed morning around 9-10am. All dropped players are then still on waiver for another 2 days, which gives people enough time to pick up dropped players before the next Sunday.

What happens if they postpone the Eagles-Vikes tonight? Michael Vick owners want to know. Fucking Vikings just bring bad weather with them.

MJD is inactive...doesn't he know its fantasy super bowl sunday?

EDIT: Eagles-Vikings postponed to Tuesday night. I'll see what Yahoo plans to do about it.

According to Yahoo:

GAME ALERT: The Vikings VS Eagles game has been postponed until Tuesday, December 28th at 8:00 PM EST. Scoring for this game will still count towards week 16 stats.

Stupid QB/WR position

Nice whine. I'll take that as congratulations. :roll2:

I could've started Lance Moore, Santonio Holmes, Brian Westbrook or Knowshon Moreno in that spot and I still would've won. Starting Joe Webb just made the margin of victory bigger.

Fantasy football strategy question.

Snake Format
14 teams
I have the 11th pick, potential trade partner has the 4th.

We'd swap 1st round picks - he'd get my 2nd and I'd get his 4th round.

What do you think? Should I do it?

I wouldn't. To move up seven picks in the first round, you'd be backing out of the second round altogether (pick #18). The 4th rounder you'd pick up would be at the ass-end of the round as well. The fourth overall pick is nice, but waiting for your next pick to come arond at #39 is not.

Of course, it all depends on the remainder of the details about your league's format, but with fourteen teams it can be a struggle to field a full, quality lineup if you shortchange yourself on picks at the top end of the draft. the guys you should be able to get with the picks you'd give up should be plug & play starters on your team.

Another way to look at it - find a set of player rankings and do your own quick mock draft , simulating the trade. Look at the guys who are ranked at the slots for the picks he'd have versus the guys that are ranked at the slots you'd have. Using Yahoo's rankings...

Thru four rounds he'd get:
  • Michael Vick
  • Hakeem Nicks
  • Peyton Hillis
  • Tony Romo (or Mike Williams to avoid taking a second QB)

Thru four rounds you'd get:
  • Jamaal Charles
  • Antonio Gates
  • Ben Roethlisberger
  • Fred Jackson
