Ignoring People, Following People and Using the News Feed
In addition to having new ways to customize the way you view and access forums and threads, there are also new (and old ways) to receive contents on the basis of individual users

    How Ignoring People works...
BuckeyePlanet still has an ignore function. If there is a poster who annoys you, who you can't get along with, or whose contributions you don't want to read, add them to your list. The ignore function can be found in your control panel, which can be accessed by clicking or hovering your cursor over your username in the navbar. Once you have followed the "People You Ignore" link, you add or remove people from your list.

    How Following People works...
Following People is a new way to receive the posts that you care about the most. When you follow a person, all of their posts will be pushed to your News Feed for you to read. It works in a manner similar to Twitter, with the newest updates appearing at the top of your feed. When you follow a person it does not need the mutual consent of that person. You can follow somebody without them having to follow you back, or vice versa. If there is a person that you find particularly interesting, funny or insightful you can add them to your list and view all of their posts in your feed. For people who like to follow recruiting news without having to scan through a bunch of gut feelings and predictions, you can follow members of the BP Recruiting Team and get straight to the stuff you want through your News Feed. That's just one possiblity - how you use it is up to you.

You can Follow People in a manner similar to how you Ignore People. Go to your control panel via your username link in the navbar, then select the "People You Follow" link. From there you can manage your list by adding or removing people. You can also follow a person by clicking on their username or avatar virtually anywhere it appears on BP.

How to Access Your News Feed
Navigate to your control panel via the navbar. Click on the News Feed link. Couldn't be easier!

Big change from vB to XF, threads started by ignored users will not show up in your forum view at all (not even with the placeholder), unless you click the 'Show Ignored Content' link in the lower right.
