DEBuckeye

It ain't easy, bein' cheesy.
Is anybody in an area that is seeing any impact of the horde of cicadas that are coming this year? I have heard that southern Ohio is getting quite a few. We're supposed to get them here (DE) but I haven't seen any yet....

I hope they stay away- I really hate bugs.
:grr:

I heard a "weird news" story the other day about a guy who got sick after eating 20-30 of them. He had sauteed them in garlic and butter. :sick1: :sick1: :sick1:
What a freak- that's disgusting.

I haven't seen but a couple in the area of Cincinnati that I live in but they are coming. I presonally can't wait for them to get here and then go around here you would think that these things are the most important items ever. The news leads off with a different story everyday.
Also that guy had an allergic reaction to the things and it has been said now if you are allergic to shellfish, soy, or nuts you shouldn't eat them. I hope my dog is not allergic to any of that stuff or I am going to be in for a large vet bill.

It's freakin' ridiuclous how much the Cincy media is covering these things. I'm so sick of hearing that quack from Mt. St. Joseph every day and have heard people talk about how they've even scared small children. The media are making these pest out to be monsters or something. All they are is a nusance.

I live in Independence and haven't seen one yet. Apparently, areas with new developments where the ground has been turned over aren't supposed to get hit the way older, more mature areas will. I hope that's the case.
