FT 29%. Holy Crap! Makes Dallas Lauderdale's shot look pretty

Diallo really needs a staff that can develop him. Can our staff do that? I have no idea, they don't really have any sort of track record with a player like him.

I get how his FT percentage was beyond awful, the kid has no basketball skill, but I'm trying to understand the 39% from 2. He's 7-feet tall and long, what kind of shots was he attempting that he still missed 60% of them from in close against HS competition?
Are we sure that dude who tweeted the stats is a reliable source? I don't know who he is, maybe there is a typo in there, I could care less honestly as Jaxson Hayes had terrible numbers in high school for the most part, and no one wants a developing big man for who they used to be, what he will be is all that matters.

I'm not that incredulous about the FT shooting numbers. Diallo has spent the majority of his young life NOT playing basketball, is it surprising he can't put the ball in the hoop from the FT line? If the dude was shorter he'd be playing a game where he's not even allowed to touch the ball with his hands.

Was supposed to make a decision in March. March came and went...
OSU assistant Mike Schrage is leading the charge for Diallo, who previously said he would make a decision by the end of the month.

“I am hearing it could be a little while longer for Diallo,” a source indicated. “He can’t sign anywhere until April 17, when the next signing period begins. Maybe he wants to take a little bit more time to get it right.”

Those stats are old when he played for Victory Rock Prep in FLA as a So and/or Jr.

Stats for this last season are available here.
https://www.prepcircuit.com/roster_players/28306475

PPG 11.3
RPG 10.8
BPG 3.5

They only have shooting stats for 2 games, but FG: 10/18 57.1%, FT:10/12 83.3%
two games are obviously an extremely small sample size; however, if he's gone from being a 30% free throw shooter to 60%+, that's a substantial jump that speaks to rapid development.

All these pages and not one mention of how the Greg Oden effect for this kids further development may work out.
The work ethic should be the thing everyone focuses on. In order to continue development he has to work harder than everyone else who's already been playing basketball for 10 years or more. 7 ft though and not fat or flat footed?!?! Sign me up for that.
