Cam Newton (QB New England Patriots)

My own guess is that someone in ESPN?s newsroom saw the report from Michael Silver of Yahoo that we referenced in our previous item, and that the report was misunderstood: Silver's report said that the players expect the owners to get the stay, not that the stay had actually been granted.
So we'll keep our eyes on the latest developments. And we'll try not to jump the gun.

Plaigiarism FAIL. :slappy:

There's no double talk in this young man.....is there? Hmm:

"Man, it's a great feeling to be up here," said Newton, the third straight quarterback taken first overall. "It's a great feeling to be a Carolina Panther."

"It's a great responsibility and I'm willing to take that," Newton said about leading the offense of the Panthers, who finished an NFL worst 2-14 last season. "I'm ready to change this whole organization around, to go from worst to first," he said. "Just being a Panther is the most special part about this."

"It was like a shock went through my body," said Newton, wearing a blue Panthers' cap. "I'm just blessed. ...... I can't wait to get to my new hometown of Charlotte."

"Man, am I happy. I'm glad for it to be over. There's been some sleepless nights," he said. "Oh, man, I'm relieved. What I really want to do, I can't do it. I just want to scream."

And then, there's this report from earlier:

Nope...no double talk there

Bobby Lowder is out as a member of Auburn's BoT.

Faced a lot of opposition from politicians and fellow Auburn folks due to his being linked to a lot of the scandals associated with the athletic department. And I'm sure his bank collapse didn't help.
I cannot even begin to explain how big a deal this is. Jesus coming back would get the second page in Alabama's newspapers.

NFL rookie compares his swagger to Muhammad Ali

Cam Newton is yapping again about his arrogance on the football field. The Carolina Panthers rookie quarterback was asked by BECKETT.com if he?ll be more humble, with this being his first season in the NFL.
?You have to keep that swagger. For me to have that unique swagger, I think that?s what makes me different from another athlete. I?m always going to have confidence in myself. Often times, I see people trying to critique the kind of person I am ? they always get mistaken about my confidence as far as cockiness. I looked up growing up at guys like Muhammad Ali, Deion Sanders, those guys. They weren?t arrogant ? they were just confident in their ability. Confidence comes from being very prepared for the given moment.?

Where is Yahoo sports when you need them? Someone please tell me they're investigating this guy's dad and all the shady deals that landed him at Auburn. Nothing will please me more than seeing the championship stripped, the Heisman taken away and all this yapping stopped. Enough, already.

The more I read and hear about this douche-nozzle, the more glorious it will be to watch this prick flame out.

I thought Reggie Bush was bad, but this guy is just a complete and total asshole.

If he's not in jail from a DUI or purple drank charge within one year I will be amazed. Gator Nation thought we dodged a bullet when he left. And there was little sadness that he was gone even when he and the tigerplaineseagles won the crystal. Unfortunately for Cam, his ethics and example was formed by being raised by his hypocritical fake preacher of a daddy.

You look at a Manning - and at a Newton or Forcier - and it is no secret that the key to their success or failure is the way they were raised and, who raised them. Cam does not have the life tools to succeed IMO, and his dad will be a stone around his economic neck for some time. Just wait until the day comes when his dad gets mad that Cam has a change of heart and refuses to give...."his church".....a million a year. I foresee that at roughly the same time he impregnates some model and marries her, and she starts questioning the books.
