Cam Newton (QB New England Patriots)

Cam Newton in a Gus Malzahn offense is dirty. I wonder if Urban Meyer is sitting somewhere thinking, "Ya know what, buying a hot lap top really isn't all THAT bad."

For real! Especially considering what his current players are getting into trouble doing! Buying a stolen laptop seems tame, no? lol

He should have a significant lead in the Heisman race right now. Kellen Moore and LaMichael James are his main competition as of today, but Newton's done a lot more for his team.

And the long run today was a Heisman highlight that most of the voters saw and will remember.

I think TP is an outstanding talent, but I don't think QB is his ticket for the pros.

Interesting poll question, would love to hear and see the results of this one. TP has been getting better, started an awfully lot of games but still inconsistent. I still believe this one is a toss up, but I am pulling for him to continue his progress and get a shot at qb. Being such a great athlete with amazing size it will not matter. Remember Tebow went in the first round. Go Bucks

In the end it's all about the system.

I think the major style difference between Cam and TP is that Cam is a run first QB. I know people will look at what Cam does on the ground and scoff when us Buckeyes say TP could do the same. Fact of the matter is that he COULD he just doesn't. That's mainly because of the offense TP runs in comparison to the offense Cam runs.

With that said, I do think Cam could run the offense here at Ohio State but would probably only run it at about 75% efficiency. TP is the only player in the country that could put together some of the drives we've seen from this offense this year. As mentioned before, Cam DOES have that extra year and that extra bit of experience, but that doesn't relate to talent as much as it relates to confidence.

And therein lies my ONLY concern/issue with TP, his confidence. He still doesn't look to me like he's comfortable being the superstar on this team that he is. Cam embraces the fact that he is Auburn's ticket to the title and you can see it in the way he carries himself and the way he dominates on the field. When both of their careers in college are over TP will most definitely be the better all around QB but I'm still questioning whether TP will develop the killer instinct that Cam has.

I can't be the only one that looks at TP and says that there's just something that has not yet "clicked".

Vince Young had far less experience and development in a pro-style system and is currently an NFL QB. (after some tribulation)

Please tell me why Pryor couldn't do better?

If he stays around for his senior year, Pryor will be drafted in the top 5 picks, as a QB, and be a full-time starter in the NFL within two seasons.

I'm not so sure about that, but I wouldn't doubt he'd be a first rounder and at least be in the running for the starting job within his first season.

I had recorded the Auburn-LSU game and just watched it in it's entirety.
LSU is bad on offense but makes do with school yard plays using their athletes. No QB. And their receivers drop a lot of passes. Defense is good.
Auburn has a decent offense with Newton doing a lot. Their passing ability is suspect to say the least. Newton looks like a Tebow type player with less passing ability so far. Less talent at WRer. Their defensive secondary is a liability that will get exposed eventually when they can't control the clock in a game.
The SEC is down this year that should be obvious to anyone outside the SEC. So just how "good" will the SEC champion be? If they make the BCS Championship whoever they play will have a great opportunity! The best in several years.
