Capital One Bowl: Michigan 41, Florida 35 (final)

Michigan ended up with 14 points, which must have been because Austin Scott ran out the back of his own end zone 7 times.

You're a dipshit, so I'll continue piling on.

Let's see.

Michigan 14, Penn State 9
Michigan 17, Penn State 10
Michigan 27, Penn State 25 (god that one must have hurt, I'm so sorry. Wait, no I'm not.)
Michigan 27, Penn State 24
Michigan 20, Penn State 0
Michigan 33, Penn State 11
Michigan 31, Penn State 27
Michigan 27, Penn State 0
Michigan 34, Penn State 8

I can't remember the last time they walked away from a bowl game with any dignity intact.
I can't remember the last time Penn State walked away from Ann Arbor with any dignity intact.

P.S. Nice job against Michigan State, being one of their 3 Big Ten wins this year and all.

Anyways, back on topic, Florida's gonna rape us and I'm shocked the line is only 10.5

All you did was take advantage of a couple Austin Scott fumbles. Because of Scott (who fumbled if you breathed on him), in the first quarter, we didn't score against Buffalo and they were winning 3-0. As soon as we pulled Scott and replaced him with Kinlaw, we destroyed Buffalo.

You didn't beat Penn State, Austin Scott did.
Are you sure it wasn't the refs? It's usually the refs that beat PSU in that game isn't it? And care to offer a rationaliztion for the wipe out in sad valley? You'd think after 15 years the lion fans would be used to being part of the little nine.

I"m not so sure. Yeah Tebow will probably light it up, but...
a) will his hand be healed up? I know it's his off hand but it could effect taking the snap and holding onto the ball when running. In the UGA game when he had just injured his shoulder, they really limited his running and the UGA D was able to tee off on him. He's still a great qb, but take away the Tebow runs and UF is very one diminsional.
b) the UF secondary isn't very good, so if Henne is healthy and the UM staff are willing to open the offense and not ram Hart into the line 40 times this could be a real shoot out. Of course we all know Hart to the left will be the call on 5/6 of UM's plays.
c) as bad as OSU has been against the SEC in bowls, Carr has been good. I could see this going almost any way, and a UF rout wouldn't surprise me, but I really think the most likely outcome is a 30 point or so shoot out coming down to Tebow or Henne winning it in the 4th.

Ohh sorry about that...

A) I lol'd at the end :)
B) No doubt zone left will be called 46 times, probably working at first and then when UF starts slanting their DL towards the left like OSU did, DeBord will refuse to call counters and regular runs.
C) I think Henne's shoulder should be fine, so bombs to Manningham might be in order. Adrian Arrington getting some underneath catches would help. A competent OC would spread Florida out with MM, AA, Hemingway, Mathews and Clemons, but that won't happen any time soon. Plus, Hart just said in that chat on espn.com he was going for 150. Mike's been so credible with his predictions, like when he said we were going to beat OSU. Oh shit....

Hahaha what a fall from grace for Austin...Out of my HS, he tore it up then he screwed himself up.

But that doesn't answer my question...who won the past nine games in this "rivalry"? Man, that sucks in 2005 you could have gone to the NC if only you could beat lowly 7-5 Michigan.....ah but you didn't...sadly for you this man came in the way of your first good season in 981 years...

Don't chirp me until your team beats mine.
There's no need to lie to the kid. Even if they would have beaten you, they still would have been left out of the big dance.

Penn State's best year in AGES still wasn't good enough for a trip to the NC......meanwhile we're ready to go to our 3rd since Tressel started coaching.

By the way, I'm pretty positive Austin fumbled once in that game. Former 5* recruit Anthony Morelli fumbled the other. Great player development there guys...

A crazy rumor's been floating around saying that Michigan beat them 14-9. Additionally, Ryan Mallett was spotted rushing for a TD, which took about 45 minutes for him to run in.

Wait, so it IS impossible to win with only FGs! Penn State proved it! Thanks, 1985, we all owe you an apology.

In a related note, Back to the Future came out in 1985, and that movie was a classic... so.... well, you got that going for ya....

If only they could have connected twice more - or got 3 safeties. Or blocked a field goal by TSUN and run it back - or actually stopped their opponent from getting a second TD.

Mike Hart probably would have gone for 150+ if he had kept his damn mouth shut...but it seems every time he talks he fails to back it up. Then again, maybe it's only against tOSU that he falls on his face.

I'll correct that for you, but I'll start with 2002 because Penn State mostly sucked 1997-2001 anyway.

2002: A catch ruled out of bounds was later revealed to be in bounds, plus phantom holding penalties and false starts. It was because of this game that action replay became a staple of college football.

2003 + 2004: Penn State sucked

2005: Two seconds were added onto the clock for no good reason, and Michigan won the game with negative-one seconds on the clock when Mario Manningham caught a pass while his foot was out of bounds.

2006: You legitimately won this one, but we played you to the wire. I'll admit that in any other environment it might not have been such a close game.

2007: We beat ourselves. Austin Scott, who was responsible for Buffalo holding a 3-0 lead over us at the end of the first quarter, fumbled his way to a Penn State defeat at Michigan (why he wasn't pulled like in the Buffalo game I'll never know).
