CB Damon Arnette (2nd Team All B1G)

Nah. I wouldn’t agree with either.

Help is the key term I have an issue with. He needs consequences.

“Help” implies its not all his fault.

He needs an ass kicking. Big time.

Honestly, I think you are inferring something from the word "help" rather than anyone else implying something with it. I have not seen a single person say Damon is not responsible for his own actions or doesn't deserve appropriate consequences for those actions.

What I have seen people say is that after (or while) facing the consequences of his actions, hopefully somebody helps him figures out what the fuck is going on with him that he is behaving this way so that he can get his shit together.

Help and consequences are not mutually exclusive ideas. He needs consequences and he needs to seek out help. He's likely not changing without both.

The time for him to "get some help so he can figure out what's going on inside of him" ended the moment he pointed the loaded gun at the valet. Now it's time for him to do some time. If he wants to get some help when that's over, fine.
Straw man. No one is saying he shouldn't do time. But without addressing the causes of why he pointed a loaded gun at someone over something trivial, you're asking for it to happen again when he gets out. Or maybe he gets stoned and pulls a Ruggs. If you care about people like the valet, you should want him to get better, not just get punished.

ANOTHER drug and gun charge. Kid was a straight baller, I hate to see this. Probably looking at jail time.

The arrest occurred in Richardson, Texas, less than a 40-minute drive from Arnette’s birthplace of Dallas.

It's the latest in a saga of poor off-field decisions from Arnette, who last appeared in an NFL football game in 2021 despite being a first-round NFL draft pick in 2020.

Arnette last signed with the Kansas City Chiefs in 2022 under a reserve/futures contract. He was released just nine days after inking the deal when he was arrested and charged with assault with a deadly weapon, carrying a concealed weapon without a permit and two counts of possession of controlled substances on Jan. 29, 2022.

Arnette pleaded guilty to misdemeanor assault charges and the drawing of a deadly weapon in August 2023. He was sentenced to 50 hours of community service, a $2,000 fine and forfeiture of his firearms. The judge, Ronald Israel, told him he could possess “no guns of any kind.”

Now, the former Buckeye faces another gun charge.
