CB Travis Howard (Official Thread)

Scout $

10/30

By B. Greene at the Ohio State site. Part 12 of Bill's amazing series on the "Brew Crew". Howard talks about growing up playing football, the path his recruitment followed, and what a big impact JT and Co. had on he and his mother. He also talks about Sabino and his desire to see him at Ohio State as well.

Film (Rivals) :

Just realized there was no film posted in Howard's thread (that I saw). Very impressed with Howard...it will sound cliche with his size and rating but he really does remind me of Malcolm Jenkins. Rangy, in your face, great hips, and very good ball skills. He will need to break down and wrap up better but that is quite dandy because we do have coaches, and good ones at that. He will be a good one in scarlet and gray.

Scouting the Florida All-Star game

Defensive Backs:
North -- Donovan Masline, Hakeem Johnson, John Darwin, Mark Jones, C.J. Holton, and Rashaad Reid. South -- Emmanuel Sorrin, Jerral Stewart, Jermaine Williams, C.J. Odom, Leonard Johnson, and Travis Howard.

.../snip/...

Howard was the most impressive player in the secondary for the South. He was playing free safety and showed a lot of range, some good ball skills, and a general awareness for being around the ball. While he played safety in this game, he'll likely be a very good corner at the college level.

Recaps his senior season and talks about Sabino and Brewster coming to watch him in the all-star game. Howard will joine Sabino in Columbus on 1/11 when Brandon Harris and Corey Liuget visit.

BN (Free)

Miami (Fla.) Krop defensive back Travis Howard is very excited about being a Buckeye. So excited that he plans to pay his way up to Columbus the weekend of Jan. 11 to try and help convince a couple other Florida stars they too should select Ohio State. Howard has plenty to say in this Q & A session with Bucknuts.com. (Cont)

Some really good updates on Brandon Harris and Corey Liuget inside the link!

Gotta love these guys doing some recruiting for us!!!

This recruiting networking is making me excited, the Brew Crew on the make. Although, for the record, I think Mike Adams deserves a lot more credit for getting the Brewsters in motion. Sorry for the digression.

Anyway, what a time to be a buckeye. I'm starting to get a real good feel about my man Travis, who compares himself to MalcolmJ. That's a good thing. The fact that he's getting his butt on a plane to CBus for the purposes of recruiting some sunshine stars makes me wanna get excited!!

You go Travis!! I just became one of your biggest fans. Bring the bacon home, buddy!

Man you gotta love this guy Travis! I hope he is successful in bringing Brandon and Corey along for the ride! This Buckeye team is gonna dominate the Big Ten like USC in the Pac-10.....not that we're not already doing that!

I was also very impressed with his senior film and Travis has improved quite a bit since his junior film. I was impressed with his great athleticism, good speed, aggressive play, and his size.
