CBF40's look at '12 recruiting (BP's prediction thread)

With all these guys leaving the program, rumors of more exits floating around out there, and talk that one of the early commits might not qualify, this class could end up being even bigger than we've been thinking.

Could we add 2 or even 3 more OL? 3 more LBs?

At this point, it wouldn't surprise me. We don't have to be at 82 until the fall and it seems like some serious attrition could take place in the spring. Plus, with 6 early enrollees, the 25 number isn't a factor at all.

I think we lose one current commit. And add 7 or more on top of Decker.

I'll guess its:

O'Connor
Dodson or Diamond
Williams
Perkins or Marcus
Santos
Reeves
Neal
And maybe one more CB late.

I'm not thinking we have that many spots left, BUT...I do think Harris (CB) out of Texas is a very real possibility. He seems dead set on visiting and if he does, it would not shock me one bit to sway him up here.

Will anyone be surprised if Bam doesn't choose tOSU?

I've wondered this myself...everyone I talk to back in Dayton is convinced he has a commitable offer. Personally, I love Bam's game and hope we have room, but not sure I would take him over Marcus or maybe Perkins if it came down to it(I feel Bam could end up at OLB). If the offer is commitable though (I think it is), then I see no way Bam is not a Buckeye.

I see Santos on a few lists. I know he's scheduled to visit but is there anything more that leads to this confidence? I assume it's more wishing than best guessing. Personally, I don't see him coming here...yet. The visit might do the trick but I'm still lumping him in with the rest of these late offers on the next shelf down.

High confidence:
Dodson
Williams
O'Connor

Possibly:
Reeves
Neal

Seems like it could work but something is amiss:
Bradley
Perkins
Diamond
Marcus
Santos

So what's everybody's predictions for tomorrow and the rest of the signing period? I'm gonna go with OSU going 0-fer tomorrow but landing Neal in a couple weeks.

I think Marcus stays home at East Carolina, which I hope turns out wring bc I love his game. Dodson seems to be trending toward usc. Caleb to va tech

And the job urban did to finish this class was unbelievable and really can't be overstated.

I'm also going to go with the O-fer for tommorrow. Hopeful for Neal; and I say there's no way Diggs ends up here.

Great job by Meyer. Still just a little shell-shocked by the likelihood of losing Dodson.

Can't lose what you never had.

Personally, I'd be perfectly happy if we don't add anyone to the '12 class.
A) we seem to have done a pretty good job addressing any needs. Brought in some solid offensive linemen and speedy linebackers.
B) after securing Burrows and Marshall, I am pumped to see what a full year of Ohio State + Urban Meyer can equal.

My guesses for tomorrow:

Bam Bradley - Pitt
Jamal Marcus - ECU (but Ohio State wouldn't shock me)
Kyle Dodson - Ohio State
Joel Caleb - Virginia Tech

I will still be surprised if we lose Dodson. Not floored or anything, but still surprised.

I honestly feel we have a better shot at Diggs than most people think, but not over 50%. If we don't land him, I'm betting Neal gets the full court press from UFM. That'll be the only remaining 2012 recruit that they're focusing on.

Marcus I'd say is a toss up. I feel like he wants to play at OSU, but I'm leaning towards his Mom's pull being too much. If he does choose to stay home, I hope he has an awesome career and never regrets his choice. Same for if he comes here, obviously.

I agree about having a better show with Diggs than people think, but I still don't think we get him. Without really hearing anything about us from him until he visited, and the visit coming so late, I think it's just too short of a period to expect us to overtake Florida/Auburn. If it were displayed as a chart on an axis, you'd see his interest level in OSU skyrocket at the very end, but just not have enough time to get high enough for a commitment.
