Dodson, Diamond, Pittman, Schutt, Spence... Would put all in the in category as of right now.

Cyrus Jones seems like the top one in terms of best chance.

I still think Dunn comes to Ohio State, but anyone saying they know for sure at the moment is truly guessing...Kid is truly torn between going to a good program and getting early playing time, and playing with friends, or going to a great program and seeing a stacked depth chart and playing for titles...

And I am going to go out on a limb and say that Meyer finds a way to convince Winston to be part of this class.

Jamal Marcus is the top pick for me at LB, but it has been hard to read how many Meyer might want and who might be the leading candidate right now.

So as of right now...I say we get the first 5, land Jones, Winston, a LB, and keep ahold of Dunn.

Not sure if this has been brought up here yet but while watching TV last night I heard where OSU had contacted the NCAA on behalf of Meyer and his staff to determine if he would be allowed to split up during the bowl period with him solely focused on recruiting and Fickle focused on the game against Florida. If this is true I find it the first brilliant coaching move on his part.

I think it is allow him to do the following.
1. Focus on recruiting and influence the types of athletes he will want for his systems.

2. It also gives him a grace period/excuses in case of a loss. Possible avoiding any downturn in the momentum we have seen in recruiting. HIs line to a recruit in case of a lose might be. "Yeah I wanted Luke to finish what he started but wait to you see what I'm about to do."

3. I also think this removes much of the media circus from the game itself. Without Meyer it is still bitter for Florida but will help our players to think more internally.

4. Also it may lessen any negative images he might gain by coaching against the players he recruited. Think about the high school head coaches down in Fl. that see their past players playing against the coach who recruited them to Florida.

The NCAA seems to have basically said that there is no real problem with any of this as long as any "coach" falls within the allotted 7 active recruiters that any school is allowed at any time. So, no unfair advantage for OSU. What they failed to consider was that Meyer equals 10 recruiters.

Sorry for no link but this was passed along for a college football TV show.

I also posted this in Meyer's thread. Mods feel free to delete where/when needed.

I reserve the right to change this as we will probably see some more new names over the coming weeks:

QB: Jones (not Cordale Scott)
RB: Ball
WR: Epitropolous, Southward, Lewis, Thomas
TE: Thomas
OL: Boren, Elflein, Diamond, Dodson
DL: Schutt, Washington, Spence, Pittman
LB: Williams, Roberts, Marcus, Perry
DB: Bogard, Powell, Murray

That's 22. I think this class could get to 23.

EXPLANATIONS:

I am leaving space for one more guy...if it's Dunn then great. If not, I think it will be either Cyrus Jones or Joel Caleb.

Dunn is 50/50. I just can't commit to a prediction on him yet. If I had to guess I would say he is gone but the last two weeks have given me reason to think OSU could hang on to him.

I don't know why yet but I have a good feeling about Williams. You just don't make a mid-week visit with your family on short notice if you aren't serious. Seeing as though he was PSU's Brewster this year, I am hoping he and Schutt at least trade texts at some point. If he knows Schutt is flipping that might give him reason to think about it even further.

I think Spence makes his visit and OSU gets him at the UA game.

Dodson still concerns me...and Bielema isn't going to just roll over. But hopefully OSU did enough this past weekend. Same goes for Pittman/Dantonio.

Diamond still has more visits, including one to Auburn. Let's see where he is after that and the trip to Arkansas. Hog fans have felt good about him for months and I know his mom really liked her visit there. I just hope the shine on the OSU visit lasts.

The fact that OSU has put so much attention on Marcus makes me think they are going to do whatever they have to do to land him. Sending Fickell and leaving that meeting with an official scheduled sends a strong message to me.

I think Bradley picks Pitt.

I think Ifeadi swore off OSU long ago.

I have no idea what to think on Davidson but I think Kozan ends up at either LSU or Michigan.

I've never felt good about Cox.

I think Jordan Diggs ends up at South Carolina or Nebraska.

I think A.J. Leggett ends up somewhere other than OSU.

I think Winston sticks with FSU.

I think Garmon ends up at Da U.

Wad, Scott has already enrolled at Illinois and transfered to Toledo. :wink2:

I have been doing the same thing.

Did you mean Jones at QB?

Hahahaha!

I've done that a hundred times...I will change it.

I read the revised post and was upset. I thought we were in solid with Cordale Scott and couldn't figure out who Jones was.

Perhaps one more tweak to make it Cordale Jones for us dummies?

I think the reason you see Meyer casting such a wide net is that it is difficult to know which of the above recruits are actually coming in at this point. We could realistically see a scenario such as the following:

1. Dodson sticks with UW

2. Diamond goes with Arkansas or Auburn

3. Spence stays closer to home with Maryland

4. Pittman sticks with MSU

5. Dunn flips to Michigan

That would be the absolute worse case scenario, mainly because it results in an utterly deficient offensive line class in a year when we need offensive linemen.

If that does happen, and it may, I think we see more pressure on the four or five speed guys we are after. Hoping to land one or two and then a closer look at the other out of state O linemen.

Wad,

Do you realize how SICK this line up is? Especially considering the other players on the front 2 lines that we have now - guys lize Shazier, Curtis Grant, Steve Miller, etc. etc. (we all know who is on roster)

That's a serious blend of speed and power. Mercy, Mercy. :oh:
