There are three good teams in the East this year (Cavs, Celtics, Magic) and then a bunch of also-rans. Last year, the Cavs were the fortunate one of the three not to have to play the other two until the conference finals, and they took advantage of it--sweeping their way through the first two rounds while the Magic won in 7 games against the Celtics. Then look at what happened. This year, the Magic were the fortunate one not to have to play the other two until the conference finals, and they similarly took advantage of it--sweeping their way through the first two rounds while the Cavs and Celtics are slugging it out. So let's just say that if history teaches us anything, it's at best premature to think that the Magic should be penciled into the NBA Finals right now.

In short, I believe you're incorrect in saying that the Cavs are taking every other night off with their "Jekyll and Hyde BS." The Cavs, quite simply, are not playing the "lesser competition" that the Magic are.

.

Did anyone see this last night?

[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ppxKf6N_8-g"]YouTube - NBA Ref Joe Derosa Throws Ball At Fan LMAO (Celtics-Magic-Game 3)[/ame]

IMO, regardless of how ridiculous the fan was acting, it seems unfair that Derosa can throw a ball at a fan and then have the fan thrown out of the arena when the fan tosses the ball back to him. Derosa needs to have a little thicker skin than this, IMO.
