Central Michigan 38 Miami 37 (Final)

Well, it was a predictable but nonetheless surprising letdown. I suppose that the failure to move the ball at all last week or really stop the first string Buckeyes, when coming into the game with such high expectations, must have really gutted your team. Hope they turn it around.

It is possible that Miami were not as good as we think but I don't think so. Their pre-game and post-game comments suggest that they thought they would come into the 'Shoe and take it to Ohio State. I think they just had a real letdown.

Not making excuses for Pitt but they were clearly down in their loss to Ohio. The residual effect of getting shit hammered in your opener is one of the few things that doesn't gets talked about enough. Coaches will tell you that you have to be careful about how big you make an opener for your team because you still have a bunch of games left one way or the other.

I've been on teams that made the 1st game their whole season and seen both sides of it but the end result was the same..the hangover wrecked the rest of the season regardless.
