Cincinnati Bearcats (Juggalos official thread of Faygo)

RE: Cincinnati at BYU
4 years of this until we can fire him. We need a Mel Tucker scandal to get rid of him.

Juggalo's are on the phone as we speak.....

How long before they go after Candle at Toledo?

I could picture Satt getting the boot as soon as midway 2024z
Hiring a head coach from another P5 school made little sense for Cincinnati since they are not a top-tier P5 school. Meaning, the only coaches they would be able to hire are ones on the hot-seat (like Tuberville and Satterfield), and how likely are those to work out? Best bet would have been look for an P5 offensive/defensive coordinator or up-and-coming MAC/AAC/MWC head coach. I think Candle would have been a better choice than Satterfield, but I doubt Satterfield gets fired in 2024 unless UC can come up with some allegations they could use as an excuse to terminate him a la John Brannen.

I've been arguing people in Cincy with this sentiment for YEARS! Embrace being a stepping stone school, but so many of their fans want a big name HC or a HC from a name program. But the problem is like you said, both of those scenarios are coaches who are unsuccessful and on the downswing of their careers. Their best hires were up and coming FCS coaches(Brian Kelly) or the hot coordinator(Luke Fickell). Heck, Butch Davis was even one of their best hires in decades as well.
I also think they're stuck with Satterfield until his contract expires. But its funny that the 1st year he's gone from Louisville, they are now contenders in the ACC... This program is stuck in neutral, with a few years of success mixed in due to their own accidental hires. They should be poaching successful MAC coaches every chance they get, IMO. And keeping the local 513 and 937 talent in Clifton, instead of heading to Lexington(among other places)
