Cincinnati Bearcats (official thread)

I've been thinking of something for the past week or so. December 16th, 2006. We're playing with a team Mick basically had to recruit from the MEAC pool over a 2 week span in the spring, and Ohio State has the Greg Oden dream team. So of course that coward Matta decides to play us then. They dominate us 42-14 over the first half, and Matta is jumping and pumping his fist running into the locker room like they've just won the flippin Super Bowl. For me, that's a microcosm of the kind of person Thad Matta really is, and what Ohio State is all about.

Also, it's cute how they seem to think Thad Matta personally schedules Ohio State's opponents- and does it a few months out based on the relative strength of the teams.

Yeah, that's how it works. :slappy:

No one ever said they were an intelligent lot.

Cash v Craft - Push

Agree Cash vs Craft is a near push although Cash scores on average 2 points more per game Craft has a higher FG% by 11 points with Cash having a marginally higher 3 point%. Steals, blocks, etc per game are about the same. I think this is what's being overlooked by the media. There's a lot of talk about Craft being, and I quote: "a great 'on ball' defender." That he may be but going purely by the stats Cashmere appears to be in every way just as good as Craft.

Wow. Just wow. There is a good reason that almost all of the commentators out there that watch a ton of players and games regard Craft as one of the premier defensive players in the country. Did they miss what he has done to other premier PGs over the course of the last 2 years? I have never even heard Cash mentioned in the same paragraph.

EDIT: Also there are a lot of juggalos on the message board already starting the whole reffing angle in case they lose. JFC. I think I have more disdain for these fucks than I do scUMmers.

I'm confused. I watched Craft and he is no stud. He is a solid player that has high energy on D, but is also susceptible to pressure. I would honestly take Cash over Craft 7 days a week and twice on Sunday.
I couldn't agree more. Very puzzling post. Cash has faced many tough PGs and many better than Craft. Bearcats 73; Suckeyes 65
Cash is better than Craft. Not to take away from either player but thats just a fact. I've watched Craft since high school too.

The level of obsession over the superiority of Big East guard play may be even greater than the obsession over 'SEC speed!1!'

Some guy called in to the Matta show last night and made similar comments about how Cincinnati played guards that were infinitely better than Craft all season and what was he (Matta) going to do to adjust.

Matta said he wouldn't take a single Big East guard over Craft.

Thad Matta's opinion > juggalos.
