Cincinnati Reds 2018 season (It's that time of year again)

Of the 10 worst (qualified) pitchers in the NL by WAR the Reds also have 3 of them.

Which is nice

EDIT

For more fun here is a look by team stats, NL only. Run prevention is the ultimate goal so let's see how they do as a team at preventing runs:

I'm honestly surprised the bullpen is ranked that low. Hughes, Hernandez, Garrett, and Iglesias have all been very good. It's a testament to how terrible the rest of the pen has been that they rank so poorly as a group.

Looking at Fangraphs, if you sort NL bullpens with the "Active roster" option checked, Reds ranked T-3 in WAR, are third in R allowed, and second overall in league ERA. That includes 6 innings of Harvey bringing down the numbers.

It says something that 17 innings across Gallardo, Rainey, Quackenbush, and Weiss were so fucking awful the rest of the bullpen hasn't been able to normalize the numbers with 274 other innings.

and it speaks to how god fucking awful the starting pitching and defense are to have a good offense and bullpen and still be, well, the Reds.

I don’t know how this game is going to end, but I’ll call my shot with three twatwaffles of the game for why the Reds don’t deserve to win:

1. Vottos error in the 7th
2. Winkers AB with bases loaded in the 10th when he’s swung at balls 2, 3, and 4.
3. Riggleman saving his closer in a tie game on the road.
