Ouch. At least elimination day won’t be a nailbiter. It’s hard not to look back at a couple bullpen implosions and think about those 3 losses, but looking at the number of come-from-behind wins they’ve had and the total run differential va record, they definitely over-achieved a bit. The FO needs to spend some money to fill in the holes and the kids need to keep improving.

Time to root for AZ and FL!

Got to cut way down on pitcher injuries. Lodolo, Greene, Ashcraft, Abbott, Williamson looks like a solid rotation to me. As an aside, maybe Ashcraft would have been tonight's starter if not for the toe.

I am not sure about Diaz as the closer.

I'm hoping Antone can come back for a full '24, but tendonitis can be difficult.

Yes, the D was generally substandard.

Echo your thoughts on Diaz, I think we can do better. For all the hoopla he got as "THE closer", I was generally unimpressed when I watched. He doesn't look terrible in the stat sheet, so maybe I just caught the games in his bad moments mostly but I saw him blow a ton of leads.

But really this was a fun team to watch, I am looking forward to next season. I always do a golf trip to Phoenix with my buddies when spring training is going on and I will have to catch a couple games down there next spring (assuming they will be there again?). The last one I went to was a blast even knowing our team would be garbage, now I can watch with hope for a good season (presuming we don't yard-sale our roster).
