Clark Phillips III (CB Utah Utes)

I also thought Day took a small jab at Clark at his presser today when he said something about kids needing to commit to a school and not a coach.

IMO he's gone and personally I don't understand it being so late.
I doubt Day woulda taken a shot intention at a kid... wont bode well for the longer term recruiting....

I think he just got cold feet plus it sounds like the parents .. it happens kids trying to make big decision. I wish him the best of luck and hope the best for him

If he did indeed remove the OSU stuff from insta that sounds like a bad sign for sure said Columbo. These decisions are hard, wish him the best of luck and hopefully he wants to play for a championship one day and be a first rounder.

Devil's Advocate: There's no drama if his social media is all Ohio State.

All 16 crystal balls still on Ohio State, FWIW....

Honestly, it’s just not that big of deal anymore to me.

Guess I’ve followed Crootin too long.

And I just think it must be super tough on some of these young dudes. I can’t imagine.
Right. It's important decisions being made by these guys. Day said it in his presser today, and I've heard Hartline make similar comments... this isn't a sales job. These are real people, making real decisions. Of course WE believe Ohio State is a great place for every player, and I don't think we're wrong thinking that. But, even as great as Ohio State is to us, it's not all things to all people. If Utah has..whatever it has... that's more appealing, then so be it... because.. and maybe this is a part of you having less of a sense of it being a big deal, and as it is with me- Ohio State football's fortunes don't ride on one player signing a LOI. There's no real point in worrying about the ones who "got away" because the ones that OSU "got" are perfectly able to achieve OSU's long term objectives.

Which is to say, OSU recruits at a VERY high level. If OSU was .. I don't know.. say... Indiana.. the margin of error would be quite different. I just mean, if OSU loses Phillips, well.. OSU has other highly rated guys who can fill that loss easier than an Indiana. Of course, OSU can't get complacent.. but.. it is what it is.

All that said, I'll be happy if Phillips signs for the good guys and will be hoping for that result. He's got talent, for sure.
