Clemson Tigers (official thread)

The fumble reminded me of a call that went against the Bucks at Michigan. JT had been dropped and fumbled. He put his hand on top of the ball while lying next to it. Two Michigan players covered the ball and the refs gave them possession. I remember JT looking around in surprise, thinking, as Lawrence did, that a hand on the ball meant possession. Fowler and Herbie asked the expert the same question, "didn't a hand on the ball indicate possession?" and his answer finally solved what I had wondered about for a couple of seasons.

I was thinking the same thing, and I think you're thinking of Braxton Miller in 2012.

Go to about 20:30 in the video. It isn't a great shot and no replays of the play. But yeah - the ball comes loose before Miller hits the ground, and he sort of had his hand on the ball after that. Very much like what Trevor Lawrence was doing.

They get DJ and Ross back which is nice for them but they don't have an elite RB now as well as they lost their best OL from an OL that was average at best.

If they couldn't protect the QB this past year they won't be too great at it this upcoming year. Their DL should be awesome but let's not kid anyone. Their back 7 is nothing to write home about either.

Yeah I suspect they might actually lose a game or two next year in the ACC. Not as much last year but the previous years there was always a game or two that they should have lost but Ettienne not Lawrence pulled their ass out of the fire.

Hafley will give them some grief next year in the ACC but ND is the question mark here unless Pitt or Syracuse pulls one of their magic moments again. Regardless they'll probably still win the ACC and get an automatic playoff birth.
