Clemson Tigers (official thread)

Georgia’s defense is good but I think Clemson’s offensive struggles have more to do with no Lawrence or Etienne to bail them out. Clemson wins 28-3 or something like that with those two playing imo.
Time will tell. I was really impressed with the Georgia defense, team speed, Dline and LBs. Clemson's Oline appeared to be the bigger issue than missing Lawrence or Etienne. No QB can throw off his back lol. That Oline got their asses handed to them. The real question is was it because Georgia's front 7 is that good, or because that Oline is just that bad. Or both of course. My guess is Georgia is that good.

BigWoof’s sobered up thoughts from last night:

1). That game was dedicated to Jim Tressell. Outstanding Punting, relentless defense and juuust enough O to get the job done.

2). Little too much dink and dunk for my taste. It was pretty clear we had the better running attack, just man ball them to death.

3). Our WR room and Darnell Washington need to get healthy. That sucked.

4).

"They might be heavily favored (to win the ACC) but I don’t think it’s just ‘throw your helmet out on the field’ kind of year for Clemson with this offense," Herbstreit said. "I think there’s going to be some games, especially when they go on the road where this offensive line with this young quarterback, who’s got a tremendous upside, still trying to find a running back … could be anywhere. This offensive line right now with this offense? I know Georgia’s great, but I don’t know man."

“I think it said a lot about Clemson’s offense,” Finebaum said. “They have serious offensive line problems. Any person in the stands or around the country watching that game could tell. Yeah, there were seven sacks, a lot of those were on D.J. (Uiagalelei), but still, they couldn’t find any production at all. This was an offense that’s been averaging in the 40’s over the last couple of years under Trevor Lawrence.

“You have to give some of the credit to the Georgia defense and conversely, Clemson’s defense is fantastic, but against quality teams they have not looked that great in recent years. Remember the Ohio State game at the end of last season and this one.”

Finebuam then dove into what he believes Clemson has working against it to make its seventh-straight College Football Playoff appearance.

“Their biggest problem I think in addition to their offensive line is where do they do now for a quality win? The ACC was a disaster over the weekend, and they are going to look long and far to try and get back to the College Football Playoff. I know their fans say ‘all we have to do is win, we go to Charlotte again and win the ACC.’ It may not be as easy, because of the path of Georgia and Alabama -- the path that they’re currently on.”

The media will start ranking ACC teams and use the "their only loss is to top 5 UGA by only a TD, blah, blah, blah". I don't buy this bullshit for a second.

"their only loss is to top 5 UGA by only a TD FG, and the Clemson offense outscored the Georgia offense 7-3, blah, blah, blah".

Hafley is going to fuck with them big time.

I hope so; too bad it is a home game for Clemson.

This, sure they'll down play the ACC right now. But come november whatever team wins the coastal wheel of chaos will be ranked and hyped as the last hurdle to clemson returning. Espin will be pushing bama/ugag/clem/okies for the playoff hard all year.

SECPN wants to see undefeated Bama and undefeated UGA meet in the SEC CG to ensure both get into the CFP. I have zero doubt of that.

OSU/OU/ND/PAC 12 will have to be undefeated to feel comfortable.
