Cleveland Browns (2007 & prior)

Oh I don't know LilBuck , but it could have been the way that Carson Palmer sliced them and diced them up with the Bengals , for God's sake LMAO :tongue2:
I listen and read quite a bit of Browns stuff and I have heard of no one complaining about the DB's from this past year. Palmer slice them up the first game but the Bengals sure didn't put many points on the board in Cincy:biggrin:
Anyway, Happy New Year to you and the rest of the Browns fans.

If another team signed Anderson and had to give the Browns their 1st and 3rd round picks would anyone match rather than taking the picks? I like Anderson, but I would rather have the draft picks especially if they are from a team worse than the Browns. If the Browns could add 2 dominant DL and at least one more LB I think the defense would improve enough to make up for any loss of offense. Lewis would be my first priority to re-sign.

I am a woman so I may not understand the finer points here, but I DO understand shopping for whats needed...

1. Resign Lewis ..
2. Go ahead and shop Anderson out so we can get decent positions in the draft [ since we gave away our 1st rd to Dallas for Quinn] and use said positions to beef up the lines on both sides of the ball, but ESPECIALLY D
3. DO NOT draft anyone unhealthy like you did with Droughns, If they are injured let em heal at home, not on our bench!

Again I can only plea my double x chromosomes and my still learning the ins and outs of the game if I am erroneous in my observations, so be kind.

they likely will offer him a new contract, whether or not he takes it is another thing....

shopping Anderson now won't work. The Browns need to offer the restricted qualifying offer (something like $2.5 million) to get anything.....

They didn't draft Droughns....

absolutely you take the picks.

However I don't think anyone will match the offer right now at least.

Well the 50 KT crosswind had a lot to do with that as well.....

DL. DL. DL. DL....

Sure we could use some upgrades in the secondary, but it's not all that bad. There isn't a defensive backfield in the league that would have looked good behind the Browns pathetic pass rush. QB's had an eternity to throw most this season. I doubt Tennessee lets Haynesworth get away, but Jared Allen is another name I like.

Someone told me that Parcels has been mentioning Anderson and that he'd be willing to give up picks to have a Qb of his talent.
He certainly wouldn't be willing to give up their overall #1 for Anderson, would he?

Exactly. I think the Browns are thin from a talent standpoint across the board on defense. The best way to rectify that is to improve the D-line. A better D-line will occupy blockers and free up the LBs to make disruptive plays and increase pressure on opposing QBs. A better pass rush means that the secondary does not have to cover receivers as long and puts opposing offenses in predictable situations.

An improved DL makes the other units on defense better too.

That would be a dream. Glenn Dorsey, anyone? :tongue2:
