Cleveland Browns (2008 Season)

Bodden started to slip a little bit last year. I think MacDonald will be able to take his place but we need to find a good nickel back to take MacDonald's spot. I have no confidence in Holly.

Good point about not having to pay guaranteed money to someone who was not a proven NFL player.

If you didn't recall Bodden was suffering from multiple back probles as the year went on. Also, because of the uncertainty of Baxter it should be a major priority of the Browns to keep their secondary as sold as possible because of the current holes in the front 7.

New England wide receiver Donte' Stallworth has signed a contract with Cleveland that includes $10 million in guaranteed money, FOXSports.com has learned.

Wow. Phil is going all out! I like this signing. Takes some pressure off of Jurevicious and can stretch the field. Yet another offensive weapon. :banger:

Seems the Browns have adopted the Yankee's philosophy... why take the chances with drafts and farm systems... go pay for proven performance...

Guess when you look at the 'draft superstars' who turned out to be superduds that you can understand why you'd use FA as proven strategy

On Saturday, they gave him a new target to pass to.
According to a source, Donte' Stallworth, who played last season with the New England Patriots, agreed to terms on a seven-year, $35 million contract with the Browns, $10 million of which is guaranteed.

How bout we trade our 5th round for Lito Shephard...

what's that leave us with?? 4th and 6th ??
I would also like to sign Carter but I would think Savage is done with the offensive side of the ball. We shall see.

I have heard the rumors about Shepherd and the Eagles shopping him... possibly to the Browns. However, I think the Eagles want a draft choice higher than a 5th rounder.

It is also being reported in Cleveland that LaBoy has not left Cleveland and is staying overnight which is always a good sign.

Can they give up an '09 pick? It's not like the iggles are going to be playing in january this year, imo...
