After watching last nights game I am all in favor of taking Richardson at 4/5 and then taking Floyd.

The thing I like most about Richardson and Floyd is that they have been beasts since they were freshmen in college. I think those two players, some help on the OL, and the 2nd-4th round picks used on defensive needs would make the Browns a different team next year. The only problem I can see is that they might need to trade one of those mid round picks to move up for Floyd. If for some reason they can't get Floyd I would go defense with the second pick and get Posey with one of the middle picks. Posey isn't a #1 WR, but I think he is the most gifted WR at OSU since Holmes and suffered by never having a great throwing QB so he has higher value than his draft position. A WR group of Little, Posey, MM, Cribbs, and Norwood would be solid, but nowhere near as solid as if they could get Floyd.

I haven't watched much ND the last couple of years. I remember Floyd from when he was being recruited and gave Ohio State a look.

What is his speed like? Is he a deep threat or another in the mold of Greg Little?

I WANT Trent Richardson in a Browns uni next season. Trade Hillis while you might still be able to get something for him.

He isnt a burner, but he is good enough speed to get over the top. Its funny saying this after a bad drop last night, but the guy catches everything. He is so much bigger and stronger than defensive backs he just takes the ball away from them. Bottom line he is a #1, the thing we need most and he will beat up on secondaries with his blocking.

I was looking into his 3 drinking offenses and it looked like one was an underage, one was fighting after drinking and then a DUI. It didnt look like the 3 major issues they brought up during the game last night.

And I agree with the Richardson statement. Even if we overpay by picking him too high, tis time to get a real back and finish this BS we have had in the backfield since '99.

I'm still wary of any Ntre Ame prospect.

If Floyd is there in the 2nd round, moving up to get him might be worth it. I don't see him as the home run threat this team desperately needs.

What exactly did the guy have to do to prove he was a homerun threat? All time leading everything WR, in the open field or one on one situations there arent a lot of DBs that can take him down and he dropped some weight(not drinking) and looks a lot quicker this year. His QB was a mess and I think thats the only reason they didnt throw long to him like they did in previous years.

Floyd won't be there in the second round, his stock is moving up and right now looks like he will picked in the top half of the first round. A lot can happen between now and the end of April though.

I like Floyd and I think he would fit with the offense but picking at 4/5 is way to high and he will probably not be around by the time we have the ATL pick. No question we need a receiver and I would kind of like to go to the draft to find a #1, but Heckert said we will be players in FA this offseason. Some nice, proven names out there guys like Dwayne Bowe, Desean Jackson, Vincent Jackson, Pierre Garcon, among others. A lot/most of these guys will probably be retained by their teams and who knows if they will even want to come to Cleveland. I'd love to have a guy like Dwayne Bowe on the team, but I've been hearing that the Browns have a serious chance with Desean Jackson since Heckert drafted him and really likes him. Don't think I want him, too much drama and probably not worth the money we'd have to pay (though we should have plenty of cap room). But, he would immediately boost our WR corps and allow Greg Little to slide into the #2 role and someone like Norwood would make a nice slot receiver.

In the draft I like Blackmon, but he might be gone, but even taking him at 4/5 seems a little high for me. He doesn't scream "freak/must have/can't miss" like AJ Green or Calvin Johnson. Floyd, I like him but unless the Browns trade down from the 4/5 spot, or up from the ATL pick, I don't think we see him in a Browns uniform. Alshon Jeffrey, ehhhhh no thanks. I saw that picture of him before the season and he looked like he was in terrible shape. He had a so-so year at South Carolina, but they've had QB problems so not all on him. Tell concerned with what kind of shape he is in. Some were saying he was the best WR before the season. Maybe if he falls to the ATL pick give him a harder look, but I still think I would pass. Kendall Wright's name from Baylor has been floated around a lot recently. Don't know much about him, but it looks like a lot of people think he could be our guy with the ATL pick.
Posey would be nice to have (as a Buckeye fan :osu: !!!) but like exhawg kinda said, is he a number one receiver? We already have a good budding #2 WR in Greg Little. Hardly playing at all his senior year couldn't have helped his stock, so maybe we can pick him up kinda cheap.

What do you guys think of RGIII? I'm not sold on him. Sure he is exciting and led BAYLOR (!!!!) to a 10 win season including wins over Texas and OU (down seasons for both, but still). But he is from the Big 12 (no defense), spread offense etc... and people like to make a big deal about his height, which I don't see as a huge deal but still a valid concern.

Love Richardson but I don't know if I want to take a RB that high in the draft. I think I'd rather re-sign Hillis if we can and focus on other positions. Too many other glaring holes to focus on when we have a solid RB on the roster already. Pointless drafting Richardson if we don't fix the offensive line, which I think we will but still.

Anyways, one game away from the offseason which unfortunately for Browns fans is usually more fun and optimistic than the real season.

IMO I dont want Hillis back after the crap he pulled.

Alshon Jeffery is not fast or quick, he is gonna have problems at the next level. Wright is interesting but has anyone seen him run anything but a go route? I dont think I have unless you count bubble screens.
