Cleveland Browns (2012 season)

I would think that if Bill Cowher came to cleveland to be Head Coach, that alot of old faithfull Browns fans would really show some interest. I know i would. He still has some passion left in him to accept another challange especially back in Cleveland again. Many of the younger Brown fans may not remember him as the special teams coach under Marty back in the 80"s. But that was along time ago.

Then i must have understood the Espn analyst correctly last night. I heard them say that he was thinking of coming back into coaching. It must have
been that it was college only i guess.

No, you did heard correct. He wants to get back into the NFL

Consistent basement dweller for the NFC East (and to some extent the conference and even the league) to division champions?
...and a destroyed knee. And no 1st round picks until 2015. Who knows if he'll have the explosiveness he did before the injury. Remember, this is his second significant injury to that knee.

That would eliminate the Browns.

Thoughts on Dee Milliner? He & Haden would be a nasty combo.

I'll repeat my thoughts. Potential. Perhaps he's been really working after his poor showing against scUM.

Opens his hips too quickly to the outside allowing his man to get inside of him. Questionable tackling, although willing to get involved in the run game, which is a huge plus. Can take poor angles from time to time.

Solid ball skills, rangy.

I wouldn't be upset, but I wouldn't be happy either. If Werner is gone @ #6 then trade down with... Buffalo? At number 8. They'll be dumb enough to jump for Barkley or that kid from NC State after the combine. Maybe pick up and additional 3rd rounder.

edit: As long as it isn't Dion Jordan. I'm sick of hearing that kids name. I want no part of him. I don't even think I'd want Damontre Moore unless
he drops down to about 240.

We have an awful lot of cap space and depending upon what free agents re-sign probably will dictate who we select in the draft.

I don't know why you are so down on Milner. He looked pretty good in the championship game and he is being coached by one of the better defensive back coaches in the country. Of course, I would like to trade down and get some extra picks but we both know that is easier said than done.

I'm not "down on him"... I'm cautious. If it wasn't for Denard being such a terrible passer he would have given up 2 touchdowns vs Mich*gan.
There are some weaknesses in his game that might really stand out in the NFL. I'd like to see some of his performances at the combine.

Honestly after watching the championship game, the idea of the pick is growing on me. At worst he'll be a decent #2 CB. Which is honestly just what this defense needs. If he can come in and play at a Haden type level, then I'm all for it.

This team hasn't had a pair of badass CB's since... 89??

edit: To expand on my point. I think he's a better zone defender. If Jauron is retained - we'd be a pretty consistent zone defense.
The pick would bother me less. If we end up going a different route though with a coordinator asking for more man coverage - I might
shy away.
